Müller on Amoris Laetitia: the Church is called to promote a 'culture of the family'

.- Those who think Pope Francis' recent apostolic exhortation changed the Church's discipline on Holy Communion for the divorced-and-remarried are reading him wrong, according to the head of the Vatican's doctrinal office.
Lionel:
Cardinal Muller himself has changed doctrine.
Also for him there are practical exceptions to de fide teaching on faith and morals .So he would as expected overlook this error in Amoris Laetitia (AL)

Yet there is no question that AL was written ambiguously, but with relentless consistency, precisely to create the impression of“exceptions” to absolute moral preceptswhich the document tendentiously describes throughout its text as merely “general rules (2, 300, 304)”, a “general principle,” “rules (3, 35, 288)”, “a set of rules” (49, 201, 305)”, “a rule (300, 301, 304)”, “the rule (301 & note 348)”, “a general rule (301)” and “a general law or rule (301).”Christopher Ferrara.
Amoris Laetitia (AL) uses references from Vatican Council II in which subjectiveness is confused as being objective, what is implicit is considered explicit, invisible cases are interpreted as being objective. An irrational premise is used to reach a non traditional and heretical conclusion.-Lionel
Amoris Laetitia was written to create the impression of "exceptions" to absolute moral precepts - Christopher Ferrara
_______________________
Cardinal Gerhard Müller emphasized in a May 4 speech that the Pope wanted to  offer “hope for the family” in Amoris laetitia, through the Church's promotion of “the culture of the family” and the “culture of the bond”, based “first of all in the indissoluble love of a man and a woman open to the transmission and upbringing of life.”
Lionel:
AL’s reduction of the moral law to a “general rule” is the rhetorical device by which “exceptions” to the rule are introduced in “certain cases” involving what AL euphemistically describes as an “irregular union” or “irregular situations” (78, 298, 301, 305 & note 351)—meaning, of course, those who “are divorced and remarried, or simply living together (297)” in a state of continuing public adultery or simple fornication.
At the same time it reduces the moral law to a “set of rules” to which there can be practical exceptions—as with any mere rule...- Christopher Ferrara

But judgment is not only about condemning; it also means acquitting. The presumption here, and throughout the chapter, is that pastors can in fact render a judgment of acquittal on consciences so the people in irregular unions can move forward. But if we cannot and should not judge the souls of others, then we can neither condemn them by saying they are certainly guilty of mortal sin, nor can we acquit them saying they are not subjectively culpable for choosing grave matter. We cannot judge.-E. Christian Brugger, Five Serious Problems with Chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitia 2
____________________

“We discover here the great mission and challenge of the Church for the family … the family needs to live within the Church, where it is reminded of the great vocation that it has received, and the love that enlivens and sustains it is commemorated.”
Lionel: AL makes the same mistake as Vatican Council II.Cardinal Muller ignores it in both texts.
AL references Vatican Council II and the Catechism, which has mistakes.AL itself has made a mistake in N.301 when suggests  that we can know subjective cases or factors which would indicate that a person living in manifest mortal sin is not in mortal sin.It suggests that there are subjective cases which can be judged as objectively contradicting , the traditional teaching on mortal sin.
So in morals and faith ( salvation) the new theology is saying that there are known exceptions; known subjective conditions, which contradict the traditional teaching on mortal sin and exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church- Lionel Andrades
_______________
The cardinal, who is prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, spoke at the  Metropolitan Seminary of Oviedo in Spain. Throughout his speech – which was published at Chiesa May 11 – he used the image of the Church as Noah's ark, offering salvation to all amid a flood.
Lionel : For Cardinal Muller every one does not need to enter the Catholic Church. The Church is not the Ark of Noah  which saves in the flood. For him there are known exceptions of non Catholics who do not need to enter the Ark.

Cardinal Gerhard Muller has approved of the Pope and the Synod Cardinals saying individual conscience is supreme. He too changed doctrine on salvation in an interview with Edward Pentin.1
Related image
He told Pentin with reference to extra ecclesiam nulla salus ' Every person has the right to act according to his or her own conscience' Lionel: The dogma says all those without faith and baptism are on the way to Hell. This is objective reality.Yet for him there is salvation for those who follow their individual conscience.)
He tells Pentin there has been a development ( Lionel : B is an exception to in the Developmet of Heresy  - from the Baltimore Catechism to Vatican Council II)
Cardinal Muller tells Pentin that on extra ecclesiam nulla salus'the perspective is different between then and now' Lionel : Doctrine changes with time! In the past they held the rigorist interpretation of the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Churchnow they do not do so . In the past all who did not have faith and baptism were on the way to Hell, now it is only those 'who know'. Now individual conscience is supreme for Cardinal Muller.)
Cardinal  Muller says in the interview, 'He who is aware of the presence of Revelation is obliged by his conscience to belong publicly' Lionel: So he who is not aware is not obliged? He will not be going to Hell? The doctrine has changed for him! He assumes that we know and can know of an exception. We can know of someone in incuplable ignorance who dies without faith and baptism and will be saved.B is an exception to A.)
The liberal German cardinal, confirms the change in doctrine when he says , 'but we cannot say that those who are inculpably ignorant of this truth are necessarily condemned for that reason.'(Lionel: In other words he knows of an explicit case. He knows of someone who in ignorance is saved or will be saved without faith and baptism. So for him this hypothetical ( or a real case!) who will  not be condemned. He would have to personally know this person. Since the dogma says all in the present time need faith and baptism for salvation and he would have to know someone in the present times, saved without faith and baptism,  who did not need it for salvation.)
So we have a new doctrine on salvation approved by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Muller. He also did not correct the Synod cardinals for saying that conscience is supreme. Since this  is what Pope Francis  told Eugenio Scalfari.
This is not just a change in discipline this is a change in doctrine. There is a new doctrine on salvation approved by the present Magisterium.

Doctrine has been changed.3

According to Cardinal Müller, the Pope is concerned with the question: “How to give hope to those who live in alienation, and especially those who have lived the drama and the wound of a second civil union after a divorce?”
He countered the claim that Amoris laetitia has eliminated Church discipline on marriage and has permitted in some cases the divorced-and-remarried “to receive the Eucharist without the need to change their way of life.” He placed Francis’ apostolic exhortation in the context of previous papal writings, including St. John Paul II's Familiaris consortioand Reconciliatio et paenitentia, and Benedict XVI's Sacramentum caritatis.
“This is a matter of a consolidated magisterial teaching, supported by scripture and founded on a doctrinal reason: the salvific harmony of the sacrament, the heart of the “culture of the bond” that the Church lives.”
The prefect of the CDF said that if Pope Francis' exhortation “had wanted to eliminate such a deeply rooted and significant discipline, it would have said so clearly and presented supporting reasons.”

The Vatican has made a mistake and there is a cover up by liberal journalists. They themself made an objective error in the reporting of Vatican Council II. They are using a theology based on an objective error. It  is promoted by the liberal universitiesincluding the pontifical ones.

Related imageLike the Associated Press(AP) and Reuters  Cardinal Gerhard Muller, Prefect of the Congregationf for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican projects Vatican Council II as a break with the past, a break with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.1
The liberals journalists have all these years assumed that the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance referred to explicit cases and so they became exceptions to the strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. So Vatican Council II (LG 16 etc) became a break with the past, it became  a break with the dogma for them.LG 16 would refer to explicit exceptions to all needing to formally enter the Church.4

Edward Pentin :
Do you, nevertheless, accept there’s been a weakening of the Church’s teaching because of this underlying confusion of terminology? One example sometimes cited is that the teaching of “no salvation outside the Church” seems to have become less prominent.

Cardinal Gerhard Muller :
That has been discussed, but here, too, there has been a development ( Lionel : B is an exception to Aof all that was said in the Church, beginning with St. Cyprian, one of the Fathers of the Church, in the third century. Again, the perspective is different between then and now.( Lionel : At the time of St. Cyprian B was not considered an exception to A. There was only A.)  In the third century, some Christian groups wanted to be outside the Church, andwhat St. Cyprian said is that without the Church a Christian cannot be saved.(Lionel : This is traditional A The Second Vatican Council also said this: Lumen Gentium 14 says: “Whosoever, therefore, knowing ( Lionel : B was considered an exception to Ain the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston. Those saved in invincible ignorance (B) were inferred to beexplicit and known. So they became exceptions to A.They would have to be explicit and known to be exceptions. So the word 'knowing 'has been placed in LG 14, AG 7.This was to differentiate those in invincible ignorance who did not know and were saved and those who 'knew' and were damned. This was an error. Since we humans cannot know, who did not know and was saved in invincible ignorance and who knew and did not enter the Church and was damned. This is a strawman. It is irrelevant to the dogma.)  that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved.” He who is aware of the presence of Revelation is obliged by his conscience to belong publicly ( Lionel : Cardinal Muller infers that these are known cases and so are exceptions to the dogma, in other wordsB is an exception to A— and not only in his conscience, in his heart — to this Catholic Church by remaining in communion with the Pope and those bishops in communion with him.

But we cannot say that those who are inculpably ignorant of this truth are necessarily condemned for that reason. ( Lionel : Why does he mention inculpably ignorant persons with reference to the dogma? We personally do not know any such case. Here again he infers that these cases are known. So they become exceptions. B is an exception to A We must hope that those who do not belong to the Church through no fault of their own, but who follow the dictates of their God-given conscience, will be saved by Jesus Christ whom they do not yet know. Lionel : Again he mentions exceptions. B is an exception to A.Those who follow their conscience and are saved without the baptism of water and who are known to him(Cardinal Muller) become exceptions. But he does not know any such person personally !!) Every person has the right to act according to his or her own conscience. (Lionel :  And these persons are known to him, for them to be relevant or exceptions to the dogma on salvation.Otherwise why mention it ? Again it is inferred that B is an exception to A)  However, if a Catholic says today, “I am going to put myself outside the Church,” we would have to respond that without the Church that person is in danger of losing salvation.
Therefore, we must always examine the context of these statements. The problem that many people have is that they are linking statements of doctrine from different centuries and different contexts ( Lionel : How can a dogma change? However doctrine since the Baltimore Catechism (1808) has been changed after it was inferred that B is an exception to A. The meaning of the dogma has been changed. There is the pre and post Fr. Leonard Feeney meaning of the dogma. )  — and this cannot be done rationally without a hermeneutic of interpretation. We need a theological hermeneutic Lionel :  He is referring to a theology in which B is an exception to A. He will not accept a theology in which B is not an exception to A)  for an authentic interpretation, but interpretation does not change the content of the teaching.( Lionel :  He has rejected the traditional Fr. Leonard Feeney interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus when he infers  B is an exception to A. For Fr. Leonard Feeney B was not an exception to A. There were no exceptions.) 5

The reason for this discipline is “the harmony between the sacramental celebration and Christian life … Thanks to this, the Church can be a community that accompanies, welcomes the sinner without thereby blessing the sin, and thus offers the foundation so that a path of discernment and integration may be possible.”

The cardinal also countered claims that footnote no. 351 of the document offers the sacraments to those “living in an objective situation of sin.”
“The basic principle is that no one can truly desire a sacrament, that of the Eucharist, without also desiring to live in accord with the other sacraments, including that of marriage,” the cardinal added. “One who lives in contrast with the marriage bond is opposed to the visible sign of the sacrament of marriage; in that which touches his bodily existence, even if he should be subjectively not culpable, he makes himself an ‘anti-sign’ of indissolubility.”
“And precisely because his bodily life is contrary to the sign, he cannot be part, in receiving communion, of the supreme Eucharistic sign, where the incarnate love of Jesus is revealed.”
Changing the discipline on the sacraments, “admitting a contradiction between the Eucharist and marriage, would necessarily mean changing the profession of faith of the Church, which teaches and realizes the harmony among all the sacraments, just as she has received it from Jesus.”
Lionel:
The profession of faith of the Church has already been changed.

From the blog eucharistandmission
The Vatican Press Office has not denied that the F.I, among them relatives of Fr.Stefano Manelli F.I,  have to endorse Vatican Council II, in which references to salvation (NA 2, UR 3 etc) mustbe considered to be visible and known in reality in 2014-2105, for them to be exceptions to traditional outside the Church there is no salvation.

These persons, though dead, are living exceptions, the F.I must accept, to the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Church and the Syllabus of Errors. So they have to allege that all Jews, Muslims and other non Catholics do not have to enter the Catholic Church for salvation. This was the irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II taught also to lay members of the Third Order of the F.I.

When this error of the dead being exceptions to Tradition, was pointed out to Fr.Frederico Lombardi , I received the general letter sent to many. He said this is a 'sensitive subject'. He did not address any specific point on my blog.
He did not deny that the F.I are being forced to interpret Vatican Council II with an irrational premise. This makes the Council a break with the doctrines associated with the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM).7

“On this faith in indissoluble marriage, not as distant ideal but as concrete reality, the blood of martyrs has been shed,” he said.
Cardinal Müller recalled that “it is true that the relationship between the spouses must grow and mature; that it will have its stumbles and will need forgiveness; from this point of view it will always be imperfect and in progress. But on the other hand, as a sacrament, marriage gives the spouses the full presence of the love of Jesus between them, the bond of an indissoluble love, until death, like that of Christ and his Church.”
Lionel:

From the blog eucharistandmission
The real objection it seems is not to the TLM, but  extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
Pope Benedict XVI issuedSummorum Pontificumknowing that Vatican Council II would be interpreted with the result, of the irrational premise and conclusion. This is acceptable to the political Left. This is the norm for Fr.Fidenzio Volpi, Cardinal Braz de Avez, Cardinal Gerhard Muller, Cardinal Luiz Ladaria and Archbishop Augustine de Noia. They impose a lie upon all Catholics. This can be verified on line in two theological papers of the International Theological Commission(ITC).
Why must Catholics accept Vatican Council II with this irrationality ? Fr.Lombardi will not answer.
Catholics are being forced to proclaim a lieand are persecuted if they do not conform. This is coercion. It is illegal. 8

Invoking the imagery of Noah’s Ark and the flood, Cardinal Müller said Pope Francis is “sensitive to the flood situation of the contemporary world.”
Lionel:

From the blog eucharistandmission

Cardinal Gerhard Muller has said that a separation between doctrinal theory and practise is heresy. The Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has still not called the new Department of the Theology of Religions at the GregorianUniversity, Rome -  heretical.1

Fr.Francois-Xavier Dumortier SJ , Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University still remains the Pro-Dean of this  Department even though there is a Director Fr. Bryan Lobo S.J.
This department contradicts  Church- doctrine in Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7) which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. So there cannot be a theology of religions.
It also contradicts the dogmaextra ecclesiam nulla salus. We do not know any one in 2014 saved outside the Church i.e without Catholic Faith and the baptism of water.
This department contradicts the Nicene Creed in which we pray, " I believe in one baptism for the forgivness of sin". The reference is to the baptism of water, the only known baptism. We do not know of any one saved this year with the baptism of desire .We do not know anyone saved in 2014 in invincible ignorance and without the baptism of water. There are no exceptions to the traditional teaching in the Nicene Creed. It also contradicts the Athanasius Creed which says outside the Church there is no salvation and all need the Catholic faith.
So ' in practise' this is a heretical department at the Jesuit's Gregorian University. According to the statement made by Cardinal Muller at the meeting of the International Theological Commission in Rome, a theology of religions is heresy.9

From the blog eucharistandmission
Pope Francis, Cardinal Muller and Cardinal Ladaria are refusing to interpret Vatican Council II in which Lumen Gentium 16 ( saved in invincible ignorance) are not seen as invisible on earth for us,, but as referring to seen in the flesh cases in 2014. So they conclude that Lumen Gentium 16, Vatican Council II  is a visible exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. They want the SSPX to interpret and accept Vatican Council II with this irrationality.
This is unethical. It is also dishonest. This is a lie by
Catholic religious.
It is irrational to assume that the dead, are now on earth and
so Vatican Council II is a break with Tradition, especially, with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
Without this irrationality there would be nothing in Vatican Council II to contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus as it was interpreted by the Church Councils, the popes, saints and Fr.Leonard Feeney.
Neither do the Vatican ecclesiastics  want to announce  that the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 made an objective mistakewhen it suggested that the dead now in Heaven, are explicit exceptions to the traditional interpretation of the dogma on exclusive salvation in the Church. It is a fact of life that we cannot see people in Heaven. It is an objective error for the Vatican to suggest that we can. They are hiding the truth.
This is the official interpretation of Vatican Council II?! 10.

To give Holy Communion to those who visibly live contrary to the sacrament of marriage would not be opening another window, he said. Rather, it would open “a leak in the bottom of the boat, allowing the sea to enter in and endangering the navigation of all and the service of the Church to society.”
“Rather than a way of integration, it would be a way of the disintegration of the ecclesial ark, a way of water,” the cardinal said. Preserving this ark preserves “our common home that is the Church.”
“The consistency between the sacraments and the Christian way of life guarantees … that the sacramental culture in which the Church lives and which she proposes to the world remains habitable,” he said. “It is only in this way that she can receive sinners, welcoming them with care and inviting them on a concrete journey that they may overcome sin.”

Lionel:

From the blog eucharistandmission
Cardinal Gerhard Muller and Cardinal Luiz Ladaria S.J of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith are not going to announce that Vatican Council II can be interpretedwithout the irrational premise and this interpretation will be traditional. They are not going to say thatwithout the irrational premise Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7) indicates all Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Protestants and other non Catholics need to formally enter the Church.
Neither are not going to say that the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 made an objective mistake when it inferred that the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance were explicit exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
Instead the Holy See wants to pretend that Vatican Council II can only be interpreted with the irrational inference and the SSPX has to accept this irrationality. 11
______________________________

He said divorced-and-remarried persons should “decline to establish themselves in their situation” and should be “ready to illuminate it in the light of the words of Jesus.” Others should not “make peace with the new union.”
“Everything that may lead to abandoning this way of life is a small step of growth that must be promoted and enlivened.”
Those in a new union who abstain from receiving Holy Communion and work to conform to the Eucharist are also “protecting the dwelling of the Church, our common home”, he said.
In discussing Amoris laetitia's presentation of discernment for those who are in irregular unions, Cardinal Müller pointed out that the goal of this discernment is “the goal that the Church proclaims for all … It consists in returning to the fidelity of the marriage bond, thus entering anew into that dwelling or ark which the mercy of God has offered to the love and desire of man.”
Lionel:

From the blog eucharistandmission
Pope Benedict XVI declared that, for doctrinal rather than disciplinary reasons, the SSPX has no canonical status in theCatholic Church and, because of that lack of canonical status, the ministries exercised by its ministers are not legitimate in the Church...
Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and President of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei", stated on 22 December 2013 that the leaders of the Society are in schism, having departed from communion with the Church...
Pope Benedict XVI and Cardinal Luiz Ladaria S.J have made a major doctrinal error. So the position of the Society of St.Pius X should be reviewed.(1)
Even Cardinal Gerhard Muller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in an interview with Edward Pentin of the National Catholic Register has assumed that there are explicit exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, mentioned in Vatican Council II. If he cannot name any such exception in 2014 he must concede that Vatican Council II does not contradict the SSPX's traditioal postion on other religions and Christian communities and churches.
Likewise Archbishop Augustine Di Noia in an interview with the National Catholic Register indicated that Lumen Gentium 8 (those saved with elements of sanctification and truth) is an explicit exception to the traditional interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. Since he cannot name any particular case who will be saved as such or has been saved as such, he should admit that Vatican Council II does not contradict the traditional and literal interpretation of the dogma on exclusive salvation. So this would be a big change in the Magisterium's understanding of doctrine with respect to salvation, Vatican Council II and Tradition. 12

“Discernment is necessary, therefore, not for selecting the goal, but for selecting the path. Having clearly in mind where we want to take the person (the full life that God has promised us), one can discern the ways by which each one, in his particular case, may arrive there.”
The process of discernment is directed, he said, “with patience and mercy, to revivifying and healing the wound from which these brothers suffer, which is not the failure of the previous marriage, but rather the new union established.”
As for the “integration” of those who are divorced-and-remarried, Cardinal Müller said it is “essential that the word of God be proclaimed in the process … thus these baptized persons will shed light, little by little, on this second union that they have begun and in which they live.”
This could include the possibility of reviewing the nullity of their sacramental marriage, he said, and a possible “assumption of certain public ecclesial offices.” He emphasized that the criterion is “the person’s journey of concrete growth toward healing.”
Lionel:'the possibility of reviewing the nullity of their sacramental marriage'. He means based on subjective reasons a sacramental marriage can be declared not a Sacrament and the family be broken.
_______________________________
For Cardinal Müller, the key to interpreting Amoris laetitia is its exegesis of the “hymn to love” in 1 Corinthians 13: “According to it, only in the light of true and genuine love (AL 67) is it possible 'to learn to love' (AL 208) and build a dwelling for desire.”
Cardinal Müller also reflected on the broader cultural context.
Men and women’s desire for a family today, if it does not have any reference in God’s plan, “ends up closed off in itself and is incapable of growing toward the promised goal. It is obvious that this desire is then multiplied in the variegated ‘models’ or types of family, in which desire, disoriented, loses its way,” he said.
In this environment of fluid relationships “the Church must be able to create a favorable dwelling, environment, and culture in which the family may grow,” he maintained, calling this “a culture of love.”
“The Church encourages this culture of love precisely in her sacraments, which constitute her. She will be able to offer hope to men, to all, even to the most alienated, as long as she remains faithful to this dwelling that she has received from Christ,” said the cardinal.
“In the waters of fluid modernity, the Church can offer a hope to all families and to all of society, like Noah’s ark,” Cardinal Müller concluded. “She recognizes the weakness and need for conversion of her members.”
“Precisely for this reason she is called to maintain, at the same time, the concrete presence in her of the love of Jesus, living and active in the sacraments, which give the ark its structure and dynamism, making it able to plough through the waters. The key is to develop, and the challenge is not a small one, an 'ecclesial culture of the family' that may be a 'culture of the sacramental bond.'”
Lionel:
1.Someone needs to ask Cardinal Muller and the two popes to interpret Vatican Council II rationally  and acknowledge that there is a mistake in the text.
2.The two  popes and Cardinal Muller need to affirm the dogma EENS according to the 16th century missionaries using citations of support from Vatican Council II ( AG 7, LG 14- all need faith and baptism).
3.Cardinal Muller and the two popes must be asked to interpret moral and salvation theology without subjectivism. The issue here is doctrinal.
