EU boss calls Hungary and Poland “racist” and illiberal for refusing Muslim migrants

EU boss calls Hungary and Poland “racist” and illiberal for refusing Muslim migrants

Guy Verhofstadt, the President of the European Parliament, is accusing Poland and Hungary of being “illiberal” and working contrary to traditional values. He stated:
The European Union… was built to guarantee our citizens’ freedom, democracy and the rule of law.
All true, but Poland and Hungary are trying to preserve these values. It is the EU that has been bullying these noble countries into surrendering these values to Islamic supremacists. With that surrender comes chaos. Ever since Europe abandoned its reasoned practices of carefully restricted immigration in favor of suicidal open immigration policies, it has dealt with burgeoning crime, jihad attacks, infiltration by the Islamic State, returning Islamic State fighters, diminished freedom of speech, sharia courts in the UK, unstable economies, increasingly aggressive anti-Semitism, sharia patrols, no-go zones, and cultural practices unbefitting to democratic states.
Guy Verhofstadt is a confused man. He refers to Poland and Hungary’s “nationalist values” as “racist” for trying to protect traditions of “freedom, democracy and the rule of law.” He and others like him are disconcertingly reminiscent of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda. Goebbels worked from the dictum that if you keep telling a lie “big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
“EU Boss: ‘Illiberal’ Poland and Hungary Must Accept ‘EU Values’ or Leave, ‘Nationalist’ Values ‘Racist’”, by Liam Deacon, Breitbart, January 10, 2018:
The President of the European Parliament has told right-wing Hungary and Poland that they must accept liberal values or leave the bloc.
Guy Verhofstadt, who is also the parliament’s Brexit spokesman and leads its largest liberal bloc, said there was “no place” in the European Union (EU) for nations who elected right-wing governments to create “illiberal societies”.
“The European Union… was built to guarantee our citizens’ freedom, democracy and the rule of law. If the Hungarian and Polish governments want to build closed and illiberal societies, they must do it outside the EU,” he blasted Wednesday on Twitter.
Adding: “There is no place in our Union for countries who take EU money, who want to participate in the single market but who reject our shared values #ValuesFirst”
The rant on the social media platform continued, with Mr. Verhofstadt claiming that any mention of national identity was potentially bigoted.
“We should be wary of narratives based on the defence of so-called ‘national values’, which are used to mask racist hate campaigns fuelling anxiety against migrants and refugees,” he claimed.
Hungary and Poland are led by populist right-wing governments and have spearheaded a resistance to the EU’s migrant relocation scheme, which was forced through the EU Parliament despite their opposition in September 2015.
The unelected European Commission, the EU’s executive branch, has also attacked Poland for altering its judicial system so that some members are appointed by the elected government, claiming the move violates the “rule of law”.
EU bosses have subsequently threatened political and financial “consequences” unless Hungary and Poland accept more migrants.
In March, however, Poland’s then-Prime Minister Beata Szydło hit back, declaring that “the Visegrad group, including Poland, will never agree to blackmail.” Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said his country has a migration policy and does not “plan on replacing it”.-Jihad Watch

Bangladesh: Man arrested for posting images criticizing Qur’an on Facebook

Bangladesh: Man arrested for posting images criticizing Qur’an on Facebook

We are much more enlightened in the West. We believe in the freedom of speech. Those who criticize the Qur’an aren’t arrested. They’re just smeared as racist, bigoted Islamophobes, and shunned by all decent people.

“Narayanganj man held for posting images defaming Quran on Facebook,” Dhaka Tribune, January 13, 2018:
A man has been detained in Sonargaon, Narayanganj for reportedly posting on Facebook several photos defaming the Quran.
Hasan-ul-Islam, 28, of East Delpara at Fatulla, was picked up from Meghnaghat area on Friday night, said Narayanganj’s Additional Superintendent of Police Md Sharfuddin.
According to police, Hasan posted the photos on the social networking site on January 7 which went viral soon, causing stir on social media, and created tension among the locals.
After the Jummah prayers Friday, the Muslim community of the area had demonstrated demanding his arrest and punishment. Hasan had fled from home following the protests.
His brother Hedayet Islam was also detained in the afternoon and Hasan was later caught from Meghnaghat, police said….

Yemen: Bahai sentenced to death for “insulting Islam” and “apostasy”

Yemen: Bahai sentenced to death for “insulting Islam” and “apostasy”

The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. It’s based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”
Qaradawi also once famously said: “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment, Islam wouldn’t exist today.”
“Baha’i Man Sentenced to Public Execution in Yemen. His Crime? Practicing His Faith,” by Aleesha Matharu, The Wire, January 14, 2018:
In December 2013, Hamed Kamal Muhammad bin Haydara disappeared into the maze that is Yemen’s National Security Bureau (NSB). Over the course of four years, he was tortured and denied a fair trial. His wife and daughters were not allowed to visit, nor did he get to meet legal counsel. Finally, on January 2, 2018, Haydara, was sentenced to public execution by the specialised criminal court in Yemen’s capital Sana’a. He wasn’t even present in court.
One of around 2,000 Baha’is in Yemen, he was picked up for something one would take for granted in a secular country: practicing his faith.
The Baha’i faith, founded in Iran in the 1800s, essentially believes in the oneness of humanity and the unity of all religions. Incidentally, the Lotus Temple, a landmark in New Delhi, is a Baha’i house of worship.
Though no date has been given so far for when the execution will take place, the verdict also asks that all Baha’i spiritual assemblies, the governing bodies for Baha’is, be disbanded.
In Yemen, an Islamic society, the constitution does not recognise any other religion barring Judaism. This is why the trumped up charges against Haydara are, in most part, for “insulting Islam”, “apostasy” and urging Muslims to “embrace the Baha’i religion”.
As an official from the ministry of justice toldRudaw, “The Baha’i faith is not recognised in the constitution, the tradition or by Islam. Therefore, it is a forbidden religion. If a Yemeni renounces his religion and declares himself a Baha’i, this is a crime to be tried at court.”
The authorities in this case, or rather the Iranian-backed Shiite rebels known as Houthis who seized the capital in 2014, have also alleged that Haydara is a spy for Israel and an Iranian citizen who crossed into Yemen in 1991 using a false name.
This accusation has been refuted time and again by his wife, Elham Muhammad Hossain Zara’i, during her long fight for justice, but her appeals to have her husband freed have fallen on deaf years. More so, she has submitted documentation, which shows that he was born in Yemen in 1964.
The sentence has been met with protests by international human rights groups. Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Middle East and North Africa research and advocacy director, said:
“The Houthi authorities must immediately quash the death sentence against Hamid Haydara. He is a prisoner of conscience who has been tried on account of his conscientiously held beliefs and peaceful activities as a member of the Baha’i community. This sentence is the result of a fundamentally flawed process, including trumped up charges, an unfair trial and credible allegations that Hamid Haydara was tortured and ill-treated in custody. It is also part of a wider crackdown on critics, journalists, human rights defenders and members of the Baha’i community that is causing entire families to live in fear for their safety and the safety of their loved ones.”
On January 11, UK’s minister of state at the foreign office Alan Duncan responded to a question about the death sentence in the House of Commons. Duncan said that though Haydara isn’t a British citizen, the “indignation at what is happening and our wish to try to defend his interests and see him released” would not be diminished.
He highlighted how the United Nations Human Rights Council had in a resolution in September 2017 called for the immediate release of all Baha’is in Yemen imprisoned for their religious beliefs. As of now, five other Baha’is are in detention….

Italy Muslims demand church bells be silenced in Genoa

https://pamelageller.com/2018/01/muslims-no-church-bells.html/

Pam Geller’s site reports that practitioners of the Religion of Peace in near Genoa, Italy, have demanded that church bells be silenced.
“Before Christmas we received a letter from a lawyer who, in the name of his client, ordered to stop the bells of the church of the Blessed Sacrament,” said Fr Michele De Santis, the Chancellor of the Curia, [i.e., the chancery] ” so we advised the parish priest to stop them. ».
So, the parish has curtailed the use of their bells.
Hmmm… the blessing of bells is nicknamed “baptism”. They are washed with holy water, annointed with chrism and given a name. They speak, and remind us to of God and remind us when to pray, as at certain times of day they ring the Angelus and Mass times, alert us to 3 o’clock on Fridays, let us know of burials and marriages, etc.
It’s okay for muslims to have calls to prayer from the tops of towers, but not Catholics.
Shutting down bells in Catholic church towers is like disarming a population before the imposition of tyranny.
I am sure, however, that the catholic Left will be sympathetic both to this anti-bell movement as well as the award to the Dutch abortion promotrix. How sophisticated they will strive to sound as they explain how the delicate work of diplomatic circles can be, the need to make friends, not stir the pot too much. How thoughtful they will appear, as they, with a slightly sad smile explain that bells are, in the end, not such a big deal. We have to be respectful of different ways. We have to welcome the immigrant and – hey! – they aren’t used to bells. They don’t have them where they come from! It would be inhospitable to cling to the unnecessary trappings – in fact old and probably outdated practices.
Abortion… hijrajihad by immigration/invasion.
Can’t we all just get along?
