So if Kimberly and Scott Hahn accepted Vatican Council II interpreted without the false premise they would be affirming the strict interpretation of outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation, like the Apostles and the Church Fathers.Then for them the Church and State would not be separated since all would need to be Catholic in the only true religion, to go to Heaven. So since there is alleged known salvation outside the Catholic Church, non Catholics saved without the baptism of water in 1965-2021 and who are now in Heaven, not every one needs to be a member of the Church is the conclusion. Not every one needs to be a' card carrying' member of the Catholic Church to avoid Hell today is the common reason based upon Vatican Council II interpreted irrationally.
Since the Church no more teaches that outside the Church there is no salvation because of the alleged practical exceptions, traditional Mission is now meaningless. Also there is no need to proclaim the Social Reign of Christ the King in all politics, as explained in Quas Primas by Pope Pius XI.People are being saved in other religions so why should the Government be Catholic? The Church and State could be separated for the common good.
This is the secular reasoning which is supported by Pope Benedict. He wrote a book presented before the Italian Senate based upon Vatican Council II having exceptions to EENS and the past exclusivism of the Church.So the expected the conclusion is that Church and State are separated.
But if LG 8, LG 16, UR 3 etc refer to only theoretical and speculative cases in 1965-2021 then they are not objective exceptions to EENS. There is nothing in the Council-text to contradict the past ecumenism of return and the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX or the Catechism of the Catholic Church of Pope Pius X ( 24 Q, 27 Q).
So to save souls from going to Hell the priority would be the non separation of the Catholic Church and the State and the proclamation of the Social Reign of Christ the King in all politics. Outside the Catholic Church there is no known salvation.So there would be the traditional call for Mission. All non Catholics were oriented to Hell without Catholic faith and the baptism of water, in the Catholic Church.

It was not to say religion has no place in the marketplace of ideas, it was to say that the U.S. government was not going to sanction one religion and force it on the people. I think we’ve misunderstood what the founders intended, and we need to really rethink this, especially in recognition that atheism itself is its own religion; and so really, aren’t they actually imposing their religion on us? But regardless of whether or not we pursue this legally, individually, we will stand before our Lord and account for how we voted, who we supported, how we spent our funds.
DC: Is there anything else you would like to add?
KH: I would put it out there and say, “Is God putting it in your heart to run for office, to serve God and to serve the public?” Because I think it is public service, and it is sacrificial. People will not always understand you and will criticize freely, so you have to know clearly who you are and why you think the way you do, what are the principles guarding you; and you need to pray for the grace to not be prideful, so that if you make wrong decisions, you humble yourself and ask for forgiveness. If you bring all of that to bear, it’s a great witness, it really is.
We need more good people to step forward, people with a compass, people understanding the principles of leadership and service. If that’s what’s on their heart, I would say, “Throw your hat in the ring.”
