December 22, 2017 (The Catholic Thing) – Until recently, I had never heard the name “Nabeel Qureshi.” But by chance (providence), I came upon a reference to him. Sadly, it was a notice of his death at the young age of thirty-four.
In the death notice, I discovered that he was the author of several books. The title of one in particular struck me: Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity

Catholics ‘fleeing Bosnia-Herzegovina’ over discrimination

Catholics ‘fleeing Bosnia-Herzegovina’ over discrimination

'It is harder for Catholics to defend their basic rights' in the European country, Cardinal Vinko Puljić says
Up to 10,000 Catholics are leaving Bosnia-Herzegovina every year because of state discrimination against the religious minority, according to the country’s cardinal.
Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop of Vrhbosna, highlighted the alarming exodus of the faithful in an interview with Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need.
He told ACN that the ongoing haemorrhaging was a legacy of the 1992-95 war that caused at least 250,000 of the faithful – around half the country’s Catholics – to become refugees.
The cardinal said: “During the war and in the immediate aftermath of the war most of the Catholics were expelled from their homes and there was a great deal of destruction and looting.
“After the war there was neither political nor financial support provided for an ongoing return of the refugees and expelled.”
Referring to the legacy of the peace agreement reached in 1995, he added: “The Dayton Accords were not implemented in practice, and those who suffered most were the Catholic Croat minority.
“It is harder for them to defend their basic rights.”

Cardinal Puljić warned that the community faced an unstable future.
He said: “The resulting insecurity is evident today among the people, and some people are leaving the country for this reason.
“They are concerned for the future of their children.”
He added: “The situation has been exacerbated by various negative reports in the media, which have been exploited in order to poison the atmosphere.”
Describing prejudice against the faithful, he said: “There are no equal rights for them in those areas where the Catholic minority finds itself in the midst of a majority of the other ethnic groups.
“This discrimination is expressed in political and administrative terms and above all where employment is concerned.”
Cardinal Puljić added: “Looking at the situation of the Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is reason to be seriously concerned for the future.
“If there were no more Croats left there, then there would also be no more Catholics, since most of the Croats are Catholics. For this reason also it is important to create a situation of equal rights.”
The cardinal said despite the mass emigration of Catholics and insecurity among those who remain, the Church is trying to give believers confidence and hope.
Speaking about the Church’s support for the faithful, he told ACN: “We draw hope and strength from communal and personal prayer.
“The Sunday Mass and our pilgrimages are an important source of strength, and this year we marked the centenary of the Fatima apparitions by consecrating every parish and the entire archdiocese to the Mother of God.”
He added: “It is a matter of healing wounds, by forgiving one another and entrusting ourselves with joy to the love of God.”
Over the last decade, ACN has helped Vrhbosna Archdiocese to rebuild churches and other religious buildings destroyed or damaged during the war, including the renovation of Sarajevo’s major seminary.

U.S. places Pakistan on watch list for ‘severe’ violations of religious freedom

U.S. places Pakistan on watch list for ‘severe’ violations of religious freedom

Pakistan has faced international condemnation over its treatment of religious minorities
The United States has placed Pakistan on a special watch list for “severe violations” of religious freedom.
The US State Department said on Thursday that Pakistan had been placed on the list, while other nations had been re-designated as “Countries of Particular Concern” for freedom of belief.
Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said: “In far too many places around the globe, people continue to be persecuted, unjustly prosecuted, or imprisoned for exercising their right to freedom of religion or belief.
“Today, a number of governments infringe upon individuals’ ability to adopt, change, or renounce their religion or belief, worship in accordance with their religion or beliefs, or be free from coercion to practice a particular religion or belief.”

The United States annually designates countries of particular concern under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998. Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have all been placed on the list for this year.
“The Secretary also placed Pakistan on a Special Watch List for severe violations of religious freedom,” the State Department said.
Pakistan has faced international condemnation over its treatment of religious minorities, especially Christians, Ahmadi Muslims and Hindus. Dozens of people have faced death or imprisonment under the country’s blasphemy law, while sectarian violence continues to grow.
The decision came at the same time the United States suspended security assistance to the country for failing to take “decisive action” against extremist groups.
President Donald Trump said on Monday the US had “foolishly” given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid in the last 15 years and had received nothing in return but “lies and deceit”.
Pakistan’s National Security Committee said the remarks were “completely incomprehensible as they contradicted facts manifestly, struck with great insensitivity at the trust between two nations built over generations, and negated the decades of sacrifices made by the Pakistani nation.”

Pope Benedict needs to recant

Pope Benedict needs to recant.1
He needs to clarify the following points:
1) References in Vatican Council II to hypothetical cases(LG 16,GS 22 etc) are not known exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) in 2016-2018.So Vatican Council II is not a development of the dogma EENS as it was known to the missionaries in the 16th century.
2) Similarly cases of the baptism of desire(BOD), baptism of blood(BOB) and being saved in invincible ignorance(I.I) are not visible exceptions to EENS, as it was known to the missionaries in the 16th century.
3) Invisible cases of BOD,BOB and I.I are not examples of known salvation outside the Church.

4)There are no practical exceptions to EENS in 2018; we cannot meet someone saved outside the Church. We cannot even say that any particular person will be saved outside the Church.

5)It was superfluous for the Council Fathers at Vatican Council II, at which Pope Benedict participated, to mention BOD, BOB and I.I along with passages which say all need faith and baptism(AG 7,LG 14).The Council Fathers wrongly assumed BOD,BOB and I.I referred to visible and known people saved outside the Church.

6) Dominus Iesus and Redemptoris Missio were written with flawed Cushingite theology which assumes  there are known exceptions outside the Church. It can be reinterpreted with Feeneyite theology i.e hypothetical references  are not exceptions  to the traditional teaching on exclusive salvation in the Church. However Pope Benedict has refused to do so.

He also refused in March 2016(Avvenire) to interpret EENS in harmony with Vatican Council II(Feeneyite/premise-free) and the missionaries of the 16th century.
So now the Nicene Creed has two meanings.
7.The Catechism of the Catholic Church was also written with Cushingite theology. It can be re-interpreted  with reference to hypothetical cases not being relevant or exceptions to the strict, traditionalist interpretation of EENS.
8.Similarly Canon Law must not be interpreted as assuming all religious must use the irrational premise(invisible people are visible) to interpret magisterial documents. So their conclusion is a rupture with the past ecclesiology.
9.Archbishop Lefebvre was correct in rejecting Vatican Council II(Cushingite) and it was the responsibility of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to inform him about Vatican Council II(premise-free/Feeneyite).
10.The CDF(Holy Office 1949) made an error in the Fr.Leonard Feeney case. BOD, BOB and I.I were never exceptions to EENS. So it was wrong for Cardinal Ratzinger to reference, the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
It was also wrong to support the 1949 Letter in two theological papers of the International Theological Commission, Christianity and the World Religions and The Hope of Salvation for Infants who die without Baptism.
11.There can be no Catholic theological basis for the new ecumenism, since without known cases of salvation outside the Church, the old ecclesiology is still intact after Vatican Council II.
12.Vatican Council II really says all need faith and baptism (AG 7) and there are no known exceptions(LG 16 etc are not exceptions). So the Council has a hermeneutic of continuity with the missionaries and magisterium of the 16th century.
13.Ecclesiology being taught at pontifical universities and seminaries is based on Cushingite theology and so is a rupture with Vatican Council II (Feeneyite/ with the premise). There still is a choice, which is rational but not opted for by Pope Benedict.
14.In inter-faith marriages the non Catholic spouse is outside the Church and so the marriage is not a Sacrament. The couple will be living in adultery. This is encouraged by Cardinal Ratzinger.

It is a disciplinary/pastoral expression of a change in salvation doctrine. There is known salvation outside the Church for Cardinal Ratzinger/Pope Benedict.
15.Jews,Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and other non Christians need to convert into the Church as members in 2018 with faith and baptism (AG 7,LG 14) for salvation. This is Feeneyite theology according to Vatican Council II which is not affirmed by Pope Benedict.

16.All non Catholic Christians (Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Pentecostals etc)need to convert into the Church with Catholic faith for salvation(AG 7,LG 14). Faith includes the faith and moral teachings of the Church and the Sacraments.
17. According to Vatican Council II, Catholics are the new people of God, the Chosen People(NA 4) and the Catholic Church is the continuation of the Jewish religion.

18.During the time of the controversy over the Revised Good Friday Prayer for the Conversion of the Jews, Cardinal  Bertone and Pope Benedict in a letter to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel affirmed a vague Christology without the necessity of exclusive salvation in the Catholic Church. It was Jesus without the necessity of the Church for salvation.
At that time Pope Benedict stated that Jews do not need to convert in the present times. It was repeated in his books.

19. The Balamand Declaration and the Joint Declaration with the Lutherans on Justification was based on flawed Cushingite theology, which assumes there is known salvation outside the Church. This is an error.
20.When Edward Pentin interviewed Cardinal Gerhard Muller and Archbishop Augustine Di Noia on extra ecclesiam nulla salus, both the officials of the CDF indicated that according to Vatican Council II there was known salvation outside the Church. This was false. It was not corrected by Pope Benedict. They could have interpreted Vatican Council II with rational Feeneyite theology. The Council would then not be a rupture with the past ecclesiology of the Church.
Pope Benedict needs to correct his errors and clarify these points. He also needs to recant and affim extra ecclesiam nulla salus as did the missionaries and magisterium in the 16th century. This needs to be done without rejecting Vatican Council II(premise-free) and the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Church.

TERMS EXPLAINED
Feeneyism: It is the old theology and philosophical reaoning which says there are no known exceptions past or present, to the dogma EENS.There are no explicit cases to contradict the traditional interpretation of EENS.
Cushingism: It is the new theology and philosophical reasoning, which assumes there are known exceptions, past and present, to the dogma EENS, on the need for all to formally enter the Church. It assumes that the baptism of desire etc are not hypothetical but objectively known. In principle hypothetical cases are objective in the present times.
Baptism of Desire (Feeneyite): It refers to the hypothetical case of an unknown catechumen who desires the baptism of water but dies before he receives it and is saved. Since this is an invisible case in our reality it is not relevant to the dogma EENS.
Baptism of Desire (Cushingite): It refers to the known case of a catechumen who desires the baptism of water but dies before he receives it and is saved. Since this is a visible case or the SSPX it is relevant to the dogma EENS.
Invincible Ignorance ( Feeneyite): This refers to the hypothetical case of someone allegedly saved without the baptism of water in the Catholic Church, since he was in ignorance.
Invincible Ignorance (Cushingite): This refers to the explicit case of someone allegedly saved without the baptism of water in the Catholic Church, since he was in ignorance.Since it is an exception to the dogma EENS it is assumed to be objectively known in particular cases. This reasoning is irrational.
Council of Florence: One of the three Councils which defined the dogma EENS.It did not mention any exceptions. It did not mention the baptism of desire. It was Feeneyite.
Liberal theologians: They reinterpreted the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance, as objective cases, known in the present times. They use Cushingism.
Vatican Council II (Cushingite): It refers to the interpretation of Vatican Council II withCushingism.LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc refer not to hypothetical but known cases in the present times. So Vatican Council II emerges as a break with the dogma EENS.
Vatican Council II (Feeneyite): It refers to the interpretation of Vatican Council II withFeeneyism.LG 16, LG 8, UR 3, NA 2 etc refer to hypothetical cases, which are unknown personally in the present times. So Vatican Council II is not a break with EENS, the Syllabus of Errors, ecumenism of return, the Nicene Creed ( Feeneyite-one baptism),the teaching on the Social Reign of Christ the King over all political legislation and the non separation of Church and State( since all need to convert into the Church to avoid Hell).
Letter of the Holy Office 1949 to the Archbishop of Boston: It assumed hypothetical cases were defacto known in the present times. So it presented the baptism of desire etc as an explicit exception, to the traditional interpretation of the dogma EENS.It censured Fr.Leonard Feeney and the St.Benedict Center.Since they did not assume that the baptism of desire referred to a visible instead of invisible case. The Letter made the baptism of desire etc relevant to EENs.From the second part of this Letter has emerged the New Theology. It was Cushingite.
Letter of the Holy Office 1949 ( Feeneyite). It means accepting the Letter as Feeneyite based on the first part, only .It supports Fr. Leonard Feeney of Boston. The traditional interpretatiion of the dogma EENS does not mention any exceptions.
Letter of the Holy Office ( Cushingite). It is based on the second part of the Letter. It rejects the traditional interpretation of EENS. Since it considers the baptism of desire ( Cushingite-explicit) and being saved in invincible ignorance ( Cushingite-explicit cases) as being exceptions to EENS ( Feeneyite). It worngly assumes hypothetical cases are objectively visible and so they are exceptions to the first part of the Letter.
Baltimore Catechism: It assumed that the desire for the baptism of an unknown catechumen, who dies before receiving it and was saved, was a baptism like the baptism of water. So it was placed in the Baptism Section of the catechism. In other words it was wrongly assumed that the baptism of desire is visible and repeatable like the baptism of water or that we can administer it like the baptism of water. The Baltimore Catechism is accepted with the confusion. It can be interpreted with Cushingism or Feeneyism.
Catechism of Pope X: It followed the Baltimore Catechism and placed the baptism of desire in the Baptism Section. It can be interpreted withCushingism or Feeneyism.
Nicene Creed ( Cushingite) ; It says 'I believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins' and means there are more than three known baptisms. They are water, blood, desire, seeds of the Word etc. This is a Cushingite interpretation.
Nicene Creed ( Feeneyite): It says 'I believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and means there is one known baptism the baptism of water. It is Feeneyite.
New Theology: It refers to the new theology in the Catholic Church based on hypothetical cases being objective in the present times. So it eliminates the dogma EENS.With the dogma EENS made obsolete the ecclesiology of the Church changes. There is a new ecclesiology which is a break with Tradition. It's basis is Cushingism.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus ( Cushingite): .It refers to the dogma but with exceptions. All do not need to defacto convert into the Church in the present times, since there are exceptions.
Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus ( Feeneyite): It refers to the dogma as it was interpreted over the centuries. There are no known exceptions to all needing to formally enter the Church, with faith and baptism, to avoid Hell.
Catechism of the Catholic Church ( Cushingite): CCC 1257 contradicts the Principle of Non Contraduction. Also CCC 848 is based on the new theology and so is a rupture with the dogma EENS( Feeneyite).
Catechism of the Catholic Church ( Feeneyite): CCC 1257 does not contradict the Principle of Non Contradiction since there are no known exceptions to all needing the baptism of water for salvation. There are no known exceptions, since God is not limited to the Sacraments.
