Abp.Vigano could put away the Lefebvrist theology( New Theology) which creates a break with the Athanasius Creed
Archbishop Carlo Vigano says we need to put Vatican Council II away because it was 'doctored' by a small group. However he could also put his 'Lefebvrist theology'; the New Theology, away since with the false premise, it's a false way of reading Vatican Council II.I don't know if he can do it at this age.
If he could, then it would be a big suprise for him to find that Vatican Council II interpreted without the false premise; without the approach of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and the SSPX bishops, supports 16th century extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) and the Athanasius Creed which says all need the Catholic faith for salvation.
So he could affirm the Athanasius Creed along with Vatican Council II interpreted with 1) Ad Gentes 7 saying all need faith and baptism for salvation and 2) LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2,GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II, not being exceptions to Ad Gentes 7, the Council of Florence on EENS(1441), the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX and the Catechism of Pope Pius X( 24 Q, 27 Q).There is no rupture with the past Magisterium of the Catholic Church.No schism and division in the Church. There is no 'new revelation' created by the false premise, officially approved by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF) and the present two popes.-Lionel Andrades
