All four SSPX bishops make the doctrinal error of assuming the baptism of desire, invincible ignorance etc are exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus:last chance for unity

Reports indicate there could be a split in the Society of St.Pius X (SSPX).The issue is doctrine. It ìs sad that while the four bishops were together they never ever realized that the baptism of desire etc were not an exception to the dogma. They hold the same liberal position of the secular media at the time of Fr.Leonard Feeney. If they understood that the baptism of desire is not an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus they would realize that Vatican Council II (AG 7) is in agreement with their position on ecumenism and other religions. They would realize there could be two interpretations of the Council and the SSPX is using the liberal one.

Now Bishop Bernard Fellay and the priests who 'enter' the Church, will, in the Profession of  Faith say "I believe in one baptism for the forgivness of sin" and really mean three baptisms. They have to say 'one baptism' and mean three since they have no concept of defacto and dejure, explicit and implict understanding of Catholic doctrine.

Explicitly all people need one baptism, the baptism of water (given to adults with Catholic Faith) for salvation. Implicitly a person can be saved 'in certain circumstances', in  invincible ignorance or with a genuine desire in a manner known only to God.

Explicitly Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II (1) is saying everyone needs the baptism of water for salvation. There are no known exceptions of invincible ignorance , a good conscience (LG 16) (2) as the SSPX bishops wrongly assume since no one knows anyone saved in invincible ignorance etc. There cannot be an exception to AG 7, the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the SSPX traditional positon on other religions and ecumenism. When this is clear there is a moral obligation to proclaim the Social  Kingship of Christ the King for all humanity with no known exceptions.

If they understood this then during th SSPX -Vatican talks they would have annoucned in public that Cardinal Luis Ladaria S.J , the chief of the Vatican delegation, made a factual error in an International Theological Commission(ITC) position paper, which needs to be corrected. This is related to the Catholic understanding of other religions. But the SSPX bishops did not realize  this and they were discussing doctrine.

The Vatican side in the talks could cite no Vatican Council II text (e.g LG 16) or other magisterial documents to contradict the SSPX traditional pisition on other religions-and  the SSPX did not know it! No SSPX priest has also pointed out the error since they do not realize it.

The SSPX is still thinking and talking in terms of the Enemy's concept of Vatican Council II and now are about to be broken and split in groups.

There is still  a chance to preserve  unity and put our enemies in confusion. It's simple. The solution comes with Catholic doctrine.Make a public announcement:-

'We accept Vatican Council II in which  invincible ignorance, a good conscience and the baptism of desire are not explicit exceptions to Ad Gentes 7'.

Thats all.

It means means Jews and other non Catholics need to convert for salvation and there are no known exceptions. Knowng this you can proclaim the Social Kingship of Christ the King over all humanity with no exceptions.

You are affirming the traditional position of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre with the support of Vatican Council II (AG 7).

Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door.-Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II.

Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.-Lumen Gentium 16
