CARDINAL PELL DENIES VATICAN COUNCIL II (AG 7) AND DOGMA EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS IN DEBATE WITH RICHARD DAWKINS ACCORDING TO REPORTS

This is the second time Dawkins tells a Catholic in a debate that the Church teaches outside the church no salvation and it is denied by the Catholic.

Atheists can be saved as a possibility known only to God. We do not know any of these cases on earth.
There are no known exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus or to Ad Gentes 7(AG 7), Vatican Council II.

AG 7 does not contradict Lumen Gentium 16 (invincible ignorance etc) since we do not know who is saved in invincible ignorance or a good conscience.

We do not know anyone in 2012 who can die with Original Sin and go to Heaven.

If Cardinal Ottaviani said that the baptism of desire is an exception to the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus according to Fr. Leonard Feeney he made a factual mistake.(Letter of the Holy Office 1949). We do not know anyone saved with the baptism of desire for it to be an explicit exception to the dogma outside the church no salvation. They call this an empirical mistake. An error of observation. The baptism of desire is irrelevant to the literal interpretation of the dogma.

Dawkins could have set up the cardinal from Sydney Australia by building upon the Genesis story being a myth and then asking about Original Sin. Also what Dawkins does not know, and perhaps also the cardinal, is that there is no church-teaching which contradicts the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus or Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II.
