BISHOP RICHARD WILLIAMSON’S POSITION CAN BE DEFENDED IN FUTURE BY A CANON LAWYER OF THE BISHOP

Bishop Richard Williamson says Jews need to convert in the present times for salvation. He is in agreement with Vatican Council II (AG 7).It is Cardinal Kurt Koch who on May 16 at the Angelicum, spoke to reporters and in the question and answers, reported by Catholic News Service and Rorate Caeli, said Jews do not have to convert in the present times. He contradicts Vatican Council II (AG 7), the Bible , the Nicene Creed and the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. He still has canonical status and is the Prefect of the Council for Christian Unity, Vatican.

Even if the three Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) bishops are excommunicated (unlike the LCWR sisters) their traditional doctrine is in accord with Vatican Council II.Their stand on other religions, ecumenism and religious liberty is in agreement with Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II.

If the three SSPX bishops, Mallerais,Williamson and Galaretta, are not granted canonical status they still are in a future secure position with respect to Vatican Council II .Then just as the Church lifted the excommunication of Fr.Leonard Feeney without him having to recant his literal interpretation of the dogma, the SSPX bishops could not be asked to recant with regard to Vatican Council II.

It is Cardinal Luiz Ladaria and Cardinal Kurt Koch and the rest of the Vatican Curia who cannot cite any reference from Vatican Council II to negate extra ecclesiam nulla salus and exclusive salvation.Vatican Council II is a traditionalist Council irrespective if the bishops accept or reject it.

Cardinal Ladaria rejects the traditionalist Council since he assumes that Lumen Gentium 16 (invincible ignorance/good conscience) is explicit and known to us and sees this as an exception to the interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney. The SSPX bishops are also confused for now on this point.

Once this error is detected the bishops would realize that the traditional position is supported by Vatican Council II. Vatican Council II also supports the interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney and his religious communities today, in the USA.

The SSPX bishops must see the basic problem in terms of ecclesiology and not other religions etc. The error on other religions etc is a fall out of an error on doctrine, in ecclesiology.

The Conciliar documents have not rejected the exclusive ecclesiocentric model as Cardinal Ladaria states in an ITC paper.

The three bishops presently do not realize this otherwise they would have corrected Cardinal Ladaria during the Vatican-SSPX talks. This is a factual, objective error. We do not know any exception to exclusive salvation in only the Catholic Church.

None of the SSPX bishops made a complaint in public over this error of Cardinal Ladaria. They just assumed that there were differences in doctrine not knowing from where it had originated.

If the SSPX bishops are excommunicated now it would be a mistake. Since over time a bishop or priest could clarify that the three bishops only reject the liberal version of Vatican Council II, the Ladaria version, which assumes Lumen Gentium 16 refers to explicit cases known to us.

Then it could be discovered that they really endorse a Vatican Council in which Lumen Gentium 16 refers to implicit cases, explicit only for God.This would result in a major shift in our understanding of Vatican Council II.

Catholic religious know that the Ladaria-Koch version of Vatican Council II carries a hermeneutic of rupture and not a continuity with Tradition, but they are afraid to speak out.

About a month back I e-mailed a priest-professor at the Gregorian Pontifical University, Rome whom I knew at the University Pontifical Regina Apostolorum, Rome the university of the Legionaries of Christ, a community I admire.I asked this priest, who offers the Novus Ordo Mass to answer two questions for me and give me permission to quote him.

The two questions were:

1. Do we know people in Heaven or earth saved with the baptism of desire or in invincible ignorance ?

2. If we do not know any such person then those saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are not exceptions to the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. i.e there is exclusive salvation in only the Catholic Church and there are no known exceptions ?

There has been no answer from him.

I don’t know if the SSPX bishops themself would have answered these two questions.

If the bishops replied saying that the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 said there are explicit exceptions, I would ask question n.3.

3. Did the Letter of the Holy Office make a mistake ?

Cardinals Ladaria and Koch have not answered these three questions. It could be more easy for them to cry blood and demand the permanent ‘ecclesial rupture’ of the SSPX bishops. The bishops may not be as fortunate as the LCWR sisters who have denied the Trinity and a Vatican Council in accord with Tradition.

So - the three bishops should not be excommunicated for rejecting the Ladaria-Koch version of Vatican Council II based on explicit Lumen Gentium 16. Since it is the cardinals who reject Vatican Council II based on implicit Lumen Gentium 16.

They should not be excommunicated since through their traditional values they are affirming a traditionalist Vatican Council II.

The six million Holocaust figure is not an article of Catholic Faith. No bishop should be expected to accept it under threat of excommunication, suspension or loss of canonical status.Contrary to what the politically oriented rabbis say, one can be a good Catholic and also a revisionist.

Bishop Richard Williamson says Jews need to convert in the present times for salvation. He is in agreement with Vatican Council II (AG 7).It is Cardinal Kurt Koch who on May 16 rejected an ex cathedra dogma which merits excommunication as in the case of Fr.Tissa Balasuriya OMI. The cardinal said Jews do not have to convert in the present times. He contradicts Vatican Council II (AG 7), the Bible , the Nicene Creed and the ex cathedra dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus, defined three times. He maintains his canonical privileges and with no threat of excommunication.Bishop Richard Williamson’s position can be defended in future by a Canon Lawyer of the bishop.-Lionel Andrades
