CHRISTOPHER FERRARA WITHOUT THE BOSTON HERESY OF THE ARCHBISHOP VATICAN COUNCIL II IS A TRADITONALIST COUNCIL

There is a video on Youtube which mentions that the Ordinations of the SSPX are illegitimate according to Vatican Radio.Since the doctrinal difficulties are not resolved the SSPX cannot have canonical status. They cannot have a canonical  mission until the doctrinal difficulties regarding interpretations of Vatican Council II are resolved. The video is a recording in July 2011 however the problem is still the same.

The interpretation of Vatican Council II can be seen in a new way when one is aware of the Boston heresy of Cardinal Richard Cushing. It is linked directly to Vatican Council II. The Archbishop rejected the literal interpretation of the dogma with alleged known exceptions, persons saved in invincible ignorance etc.He rejected a thrice defined dogma with alleged known to us cases of the baptism of desire etc.The dogma had defacto exceptions according to him.

The Archbishop of Boston placed restrictions on Fr. Leonard Feeney for affirming the traditional teaching of the Church. The Archbishop was sure that there were known exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. The media and the Boston establishment supported the bishop.

Cardinal Richard Cushing and the Jesuits then had these ‘exceptions’ mentioned in Vatican Council II but was probably blocked by the conservatives. The Council was not allowed to state that these exceptions were known to us.Neither does it state that these exceptions contradict the dogma. The Council did not say it directly.

So Lumen Gentium 16 says there can be non Catholics saved in invincible ignorance or a good conscience but does not state  that these cases are known to us or that they are exceptions to the dogma on salvation. We accept the possibility known only to God.

For the SSPX these 'exceptions' are real. They are allegedly known to us. For them these exceptions contradict the dogma on salvation and the Syllabus of Errors. They have fallen for the Bsoton heresy of the Archbishop and picked up a wrong interpretation of the Council.

Vatican Council II is heretical only when one uses the Boston heresy of the cardinal and the Jesuits. If Ferrara and the SSPX rejected this heresy Vatican Council II is a traditionalist Council with a traditional ecclesiology and teaching on other religions, ecumenism and religious liberty. The literal interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus is at the centre of the issue and the communique of the SSPX (July 19, 2012) seems to understand it.Lionel Andrades
