BISHOP OF FRASCATI 'S APOLOGETICAL PAMPHLETS WITH ERRORS AND CONTRADICTIONS

The Bishop of Frascati, Italy's pamphlets are unfortunate. They are available in Rome.

The style and contents are confusing. There is no new Revelation but he is using the new doctrine of the visible dead..He assumes we know the dead saved. So did Fr. Hans Kung and Fr. Karl Rahner. They were  sure the dead are saved in invincible ignorance etc are known to us. So Lumen Gentium 16 is an exception to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the traditional understanding.

Having established the new doctrine, the 'new fact' of being able to see the dead on earth they make conclusions and posited them as Catholic teaching.

Since we can see the dead saved there is salvation outside the church for them. So the defined dogma on salvation became  obsolete.

2. Since there is salvation outside the Church it means those who are not baptised can be saved . So there is salvation outside the Church for infants.

Since there is salvation outside the church mission must not depend on saving souls from Hell but in showing them the beautiful face of Jesus.

One can expect contradictions in the bishops apologetic material

If you ask two questions they see their whole house of cards crumble. So they don't answer.

It's not their fault . They are preserving the faith even with the limitations set on them The error has been passed on from Boston in the 1940's. The wrong interpretation can also be made of Vatican Council II - and it is being made. They are not aware of the Cardinal Richard Cushing error of the visible dead being an exception to the dogma on exclusive salvation.Others who are aware of the error must want to deal with it but it is difficult

I think we should face it and go forward. We can't claim something is the truth when it is not. We end up with so much of confusion. This shows up in the pamphlets inspite of the good intentions of the good bishop of Frascati -Lionel Andrades

Charity is an extremely important virtue especially in Catholic instruction to the faithful and demands that we always humbly use this approach when dealing with non Catholics and Jews. Arrogance and puffed up pride is never to be construed to be doing the work of Jesus in teaching , spreading the Faith or our duty as Catholics for the conversion of non Catholics and Jews.

The most recent article in Today's Catholic , dated September 23rd. 2012 entitled ' Preparing for the year of faith: Faith and works by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades whose motto is in truth and charity says in part: " Martin Luther added the word "alone" and said we are justified by faith alone. This controversy about justification by faith, a cornerstone of the protestant reformation, became a principal reason for the division between Catholics and Protestants. Thanks be to God. much progress has been made through ecumenical dialogue to overcome the misunderstanding since the time of Martin Luther concerning the issue of justification and Faith.
Faith creates charity. Charity is the fulfillment of communion with Christ. Luther was right that we can't be justified by work....... We are called to live in God's grace, to persevere in faith and good works. It is important to see the intimate connection between faith and good works. As Saint James taught faith without works is dead."

Excommunication of Martin Luther ( source: Wikipedia)
Excommunication
"On 15 June 1520, the Pope warned Luther with the papal bull (edict) Exsurge Domine that he risked excommunication unless he recanted 41 sentences drawn from his writings, including the 95 Theses, within 60 days. That autumn, Johann Eck proclaimed the bull in Meissen and other towns. Karl von Miltitz, a papal nuncio, attempted to broker a solution, but Luther, who had sent the Pope a copy of On the Freedom of a Christian in October, publicly set fire to the bull and decretals at Wittenberg on 10 December 1520,[56] an act he defended in Why the Pope and his Recent Book are Burned and Assertions Concerning All Articles. As a consequence, Luther was excommunicated by Pope Leo X on 3 January 1521, in the bull Decet Romanum Pontificem."

Sorry, Martin Luther was a heretic and died as a heretic. He did not recant and there was no reason for the Pope or Church to undue one of the greatest breaches and heretical teachers against our Catholic faith in all of Church history. Countless Martyrs gave their lives because they would not agree to profess a false faith of heretical teachings. Time changes nothing concerning the life and times of Martin Luther. He was ex communicated and judged by God in the state of excommunication. This excommunication was bound by Pope Leo X on earth. There was no misunderstanding as if this was an issue over what color to paint the sacristy. It is no wander that we no longer can hear true church teaching on No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church from the pulpit. Its as if it has been dismissed or prelates are embarrassed to teach the faith. Yes we can and should acknowledge common believes that we share with non Catholics and yes we must talk with Charity BUT no we cannot water down and change truth under the guise of dialogue. Conversion is alive , although not well and is now and always the mandate of the Church. Luther did not take one for the team because of some misunderstanding. charity without truth is false charity.
