FR.LEONARD FEENEY'S COMMUNITIES OF NO HELP TO THE SSPX

The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Still River,MA,USA are still not answering two questions since they believe implicit desire is explicit and visible for us and so they assume that Vatican Council II contradicts the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

If they answer the question:'Do we know anyone in 2012 saved with implicit desire' the answer will be NO - but there is no answer from them.

Then 'if we do not know any of these cases in 2012 can there be exceptions to the dogma?'.There answer should be 'No. There are no exceptions.' They do not respond.

If we do not know any of these cases in 2012 and since they are not exceptions to the dogma then implicit baptism of desire is compatible with the strict interpretation of Fr.Leonard Feeney. It is also then possible that a person can be saved without the Sacraments and this does contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

So the ordinary way of salvation for all is Catholic Faith and the baptism of water (AG 7) and if someone is saved without the Sacraments (CCC 1257) it does not contradict the ordinary way; it does not contradict the traditional and literal interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

This puts Vatican Council II in a new perspective.

If being saved in invincible ignorance and a good conscience (LG 16), or seeds of the Word(AG 11) or 'elements of sanctification' (LG 8) are not known to us in particular cases in 2012, then they are not exceptions to the dogma.

There is nothing else in Vatican Council II which could contradict the dogma according to Fr.Leonard Feeney.

When Vatican Council II affirms extra ecclesiam nulla salus it is in accord with Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Still River,Ma and Fr.Leonard Feeney's position on other religions and ecumenism.

This is the same position as the Society of St.Pius X (SSPX) and other traditionalists.

Presently, amid the SSPX crisis, the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fr.Leonard Feeney's communities, are of no help. They assume implicit cases in Vatican Council II are explicit and so the Council is modernist and contradicts the dogma on salvation. This is the same error being made by Bishop Bernard Fellay and the SSPX.

I agree with the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary when they say there are only Catholics in Heaven. All who are saved are saved with the baptism of water-  and for adults, Catholic Faith and the baptism of water. It means for salvation all non Christians(Hindus,Buddhists etc) need the baptism of water and Catholic Faith for salvation and all non Catholic adults (Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Pentecostals etc) need Catholic Faith with the baptism of water, which they already have.

However, implicit desire is part of the Deposit of Faith and this is accepted by the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.Explicit implicit desire is irrational and this is a point they need to clarify.

If they can say that implicit desire is always implicit for us then they are in a position to interpret Vatican Council II as a traditional Council and a continuation with the past , especially with reference to other religions.-Lionel Andrades
