One major casue of liberalism in faith and morals is the Richard Cushing Error

In morals it is assumed  we can physically see exceptions of 'deliberate consent' and 'full freedom' and 'probablism and equiprobablism 'theories, which are known exceptions to mortal sin.

In faith it is assumed we can physically  see exceptions saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire  so all do not need to convert visibly into the Church. We  have known exceptions to the dogma on salvation.

 MORALS
We cannot see the dead! We cannot say in general that all who are in mortal sin cannot be in mortal sin since we personally know they are not in full communion or have deliberate consent, two of the three conditions listed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

1857 For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: “Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent.”

If there is grave matter it's a mortal sin!  Only one condition in three is relevant to know when a sin is a mortal sin. When you see a Catholic woman in a bikini on the beach you cannot claim to know the other two conditions.

When a Catholic is immodestly dressed  or an unmarried couple are living together  ,it is a mortal sin.The outer action indicates the subjective thinking(Veritatis Splendor).Only with the Richard Cushing false premise, it could be said "No it is not a mortal sin since we cannot know when a person has full freedom or there is deliberate consent." Of course you cannot know !That is why it is irrelevant to mortal sin.Mortal sin is mortal sin.

Similarly the liberals say there is  moral probabilism and equiprobabilim. Then throw away the traditional teaching on mortal sin. Veritatis Splendor  states mortal sin is mortal sin. If we consider probablism theories as known exceptions to the traditonal teaching on mortal sin we could be making the Richard Cushing Error. We are  assuming that these probability theories  are known in personal cases and so these exceptions change the general rule.If probabilism is an exception we cannot know which permutation God will use on the Day of Judgement and who is an exception to mortal sin and will be saved. We cannot say that any particular person will be saved with mortal sin.We don't know of any such case in 2013.

Based on the false premise, the liberals got probabilism taught at Catholic universities and seminaries in moral theology. It was used to justify the Soho Mass in the Archdiocese of Westminister, England (1)

FAITH
Similarly, on faith and salvation liberals reject the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus since they assume that being saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are physically visible  exceptions. This was the precise error of the Archbishop of Boston Cardinal Richard Cushing in the Fr.Leonard Feeney case. For him being saved in invincible ignorance was relevant  to the literal interpretation of the dogma on salvation.

Similalry when Pope Pius XII in Mystici Corporis refers to being saved with  implicit desire or invincible ignorance he does not state that these cases are physically visible to us and so are exceptions to the dogma. However this  error is made by many liberals. The make an  objective error on then they criticize Fr.Leonard Feeney.

Fr,Leonard Feeney  was excommunicated for disobedience and was not asked to recant when the excommunication was lifted.Assuming he was excommunicated for heresy as the liberal media alleges, then it means the cardinal who issued the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 made an objective mistake. He assumed we can physically see the dead-saved.

When Vatican Council II states 'Therefore though God in ways known to Himself can lead those in culpably ignorant of the Gospel to find that faith without which it is impossible to please Him ' (AG 7) it is not a known exception to 'Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door. '(AG 7).There is no conflict, unless, one is using the Richard Cushing Error.Only with the error of the false premise would these two statements in Ad Gentes 7 be contradictory.

When the Catechism of the Catholic Church states 'all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body'(CCC 846)  it is not in conflict with 'Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation... He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door' (CCC 846). There is no contradiction here, unless, one is making the Richard Cushing Error.

Many religious and lay Catholics are unknowingly making this error of the visible-dead and they assume that this is the teaching of the Catholic Church. The Holy Spirit cannot teach an irrationality.

This error is made on the Internet Discussion Board True Catholic by Fr.John George of the Archdiocese of Sydney. It is common among priests in Australia and England who have been using the Richard Cushing Error to even the change the Church's traditional teaching on homosexuality.-

14. Homosexuals have the same need for the Sacraments as the heterosexual. They also have the same right to receive the Sacraments. In determining whether or not to administer Absolution or give Communion to a homosexual, a pastor must be guided by the general principles of fundamental theology, that only a certain moral obligation may be imposed. An invincible doubt, whether of law or fact, permits one to follow a true and solidly ‘probable opinion’ in favour of a more liberal interpretation. - According to the Archdiocese of Westminister Soho Mass Pastoral Council announcement on the Internet

Since Vatican II, we have lost our moral compass and reduced reverence, the vast majority of times to profane and casual gestures, as compared to the holiness of the preceding centuries.
Popes, councils, Church and catechism has acknowledged the possibility of mercies that God might extend to those non Catholics who die outside the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. These possible mercies are known to God alone and is never reason for Catholics at any and all levels to try to convert non Catholics continually.
The crisis in the Church is directly attributed to the lack of reverence, lack of morals and failure to teach the Catholic Faith to all. The mission remains to convert and teach to ALL that one must be Catholic and in the state of sanctifying grace to enter Heaven.
The notion that our non Catholic brothers need not be converted with passion and urgency is in itself reason for much of the punishment the Church has endured for the past many decades.
For a bishop to say that the protestant Reformation and Martin Luther's views were a misunderstanding that has been cleared up by Vatican II only shows how deep the crisis truly continues to be.

....and so we pray

From previous post: " These possible mercies are known to God alone and is never reason for Catholics at any and all levels to try to convert non Catholics continually" Correction needed:

I left out the word 'not' before the word try. All non Catholics must be converted lest they be unaware or have any reason to have invincible ignorance. Most Catholics treat our , One , Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church as an optional avenue of salvation, simply one path of the many faiths and non faiths, for that matter that all lead to Heaven. And this is the tragedy that we find ourselves in today. The devil is having a field day with the luke warm world we live in.
