Archbishop Fires Renowned Professor Because Of Critique On Amoris Laetitia

Archbishop Fires Renowned Professor Because Of Critique On Amoris Laetitia

On August 31 Archbishop Javier Martínez Fernández of Granada, Spain, fired the famous Professor Josef Seifert, 72, who teaches at the archdiocesan Philosophical Institute Edith Stein. The reason: Seifert criticised the controversial document Amoris Laetitia in the past.

Martínez insinuates in a note that Seifert’s two articles on Amoris Laetitia are "confusing" for the faithful and "damaging the communion of the Church". Seifert showed in his articles with scientific rigour that Amoris Laetitia leads to the dissolution of any absolute moral law.

In the same note Martinez adopts the Amoris Laetitia guidelines of the Bishops of the Region of Buenos Aires, Argentinia, that allows Communion for adulterers contradicting the Gospels, the New Testament and Catholic doctrine.
