Catholic journalists could ask Cardinal Castrillion Hoyes simple questions like has he seen a baptism of desire case in 2018, does he know of any one saved in invincible ignorance, personally?
If there are no known cases of the baptism of desire over the last 20 years were there any in 1965? In 1949?
The answer to these questions are obvious. They are simple.
So then he can be asked if there are any practical exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus in 2018. Can the baptism of desire be a practical exception to EENS?
Can someone saved in invincible ignorance this year be a practical exception to EENS.
The answer is obviously NO.They do not exist so they cannot be exceptions.
Once it is understood that in the physical realm there are no known cases of people saved with BOD, BOB and I.I, for us human beings, then Cardinal Castrillion Hoyes himself would understand the bad theology of Pope Benedict and would ask him to issue a clarification.
It must be kept in mind that Pope Benedict interprets BOD, BOB and I.I as exceptions to EENS and so LG 16 and GS 22 are also exceptions to EENS for him(Christianity and the World Religions, ITC).So he really infers that there are known cases of BOD, BOB and I.I for them to be exceptions.
This is also the reasoning of cardinal Ladaria and Muller and Archbishop Pozzo and Augustine di Noia
