It is important to understand the difference between Cushingism( invisible people are visible) and Feeneyism( invisible people are invisible). For the popes since Paul VI invisible cases of LH 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc are visible and practical exceptions to 16th century extra ecclesiam nulla salus and Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and the baptism of water for salvation.

Vatican Couyncil II cannot be magisterial.

Probably for the popes the end justifies the means. They have to interpret Vatican Council II irrationally to please the Left, this is necessary for the survival of the Vatican.

Only Vatican Council II ( CushingiteI is approved by the Vatican-Israel Permanent Working Commission and the Masonic lodges.

Since Vatican Council II creates a block with the past ecclesiology and an ecumenism of return Cardinal Walter Kasper, asked in an interview, if ecclesiology can be changed in the Church then why cannot the Eucharist be given to the divorced and re-maried ?

At the Amazon Synod, Cardinal Hummes cited Vatican Council II( Cushingite) to reject exclusive salvation in the Church. 

At the press conference in the plance on the return flight from Abu Dhabi Pope Francis referred to Vatican Council II . It was of course not Vatican Council II ( Feeneyite).

Pope Benedict has said that extra ecclesiam nulla salus today is not the same as it was for the missionaries in the 16th century(Avvenire, 201&) since there was a development with Vatican Council II. He meant Vatican Council II( Cushingite).

He always interpreted Vatican Council by confusing what is invisible as being visible. So he assumed that there was known salvation outside the Church.He interpreted LG 8 etc as referring to personally known people saved outside the Church.It was as if he could meet and see people saved without faith and baptism (AG 7).

For him and the liberals at Vatican Council II, the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 was correct and Fr. Leonard Feeney was wrong i.e the baptism of desire and being saved in invincible ignorance referred to visible people. If they were invisible they could not be exceptions to Feeneyite extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

So since there is known salvation in other religions and the past ecclesiology and the Syllabus of Errors are made obsolete for Pope Benedict he says Jews and others do not need to convert into the Catholic Church for salvation.
