There was no extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) with exceptions for St. Francis of Assisi and St. Bonaventure since it was common knowledge that the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and invincible ignorance cannot be exceptions.But there is EENS with exceptions for the popes since Paul VI to Francis and for the SSPX. This is the New Theology. Pope Pius XII overlooked this mistake in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949. The Boston Heresy referred to Cardinal Richard Cushing and not Fr. Leonard Feeney. So who is the father of the New Theoloy, Pope Pius XII or Pope Paul VI ?
