Cardinal Cushing and the Jesuits who opposed Fr. Leonard Feeney were sitting there at Vatican Council II to implement the New Theology.
The excommunication was still not lifted in 1965.They had no intention of lifting one of the longest excommunications in Church history.
They were there to implement the objective error in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 and support a New Theology.-Lionel Andrades
