Peter Kwasniewski appeals for a return to the faith of Pope Francis : many traditionalists are already there

from Rorate Caeili

I want to recommend four books in particular that relate to my theme.

1. Bishop Athanasius Schneider’s Christus Vincit: Christ’s Triumph Over the Darkness of the Age. When people ask me: “What should I read to understand the current crisis in the Church, how we got here, and how we get out of it?,” I always recommend this book, which is written with the clarity, fortitude, kindness, and orthodoxy for which Bishop Schneider is famous.
Lionel : Bishop Schneider holds the same faith as Pope Francis and Peter Kwasniewski. They all interpret Vatican Council II, the Creeds and Catechisms with an irrational premise to create a rupture with Catholic Tradition. This is approved by the Left. If they interpreted the Council with the rational premise, then they would have to affirm the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX with no exceptions. Now with the exceptions they hold the SSPX version of the Syllabus of Errors. So they have changed tradition, rejected it with the false premise which is expedient. Then they allow themselves to  be called traditionalists.
Remember in this book Bishop Athanasius Schneider has not affirmed the faith. As always he wanted to support the popes on this issue of the false and rational premise.
When the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Diocese of Manchester, issued a Decree of Prohibitions against the St. Benedict Center, he did not comment. It was a doctrinal issue. The CDF, for political reasons, wanted Brother Andre Marie MICM, to interpret the Catechism of the Catholic Church (8847-848 Invincible ignorance) to create a rupture with Feeneyite, EENS, Syllabus of Errors and Athanasius Creed. This is acceptable for Bishop Schneider and Peter Kwasniewski.

2. Roberto de Mattei’s Love for the Papacy and Filial Resistance to the Pope in the History of the Church. We need to know about times in history where popes have messed up, doctrinally or prudentially, and were legitimately resisted by members of the Church. It is comforting—in both the current meaning of the word (consoling, reassuring) and its old-fashioned sense (strengthening, galvanizing)—to know that there are precedents for such resistance, and to know what they looked like. Divine Providence raises the right people at the right moment.

Lionel: Roberto dei Mattei is interpreting Vatican Council II and other Magisterial documents with the politcally correct false premise to create a rupture with Tradition ( EENS with no exceptions etc). So he is in  harmony with Pope Francis, the liberals and Masons on this doctrinal issue. If he did not use the false premise to interpret the Council he would be affirming Tradition like the missionaries of the 16th century. This would not be tolerated by the Left. So in his books he has compromised the faith and remains tolerated by the establishment.
He possibly received a threat and so distanced himself from Archbishop Carlo Vigano.

3. Defending the Faith Against Present Heresies, edited by John Lamont and Claudio Pierantoni. The best one-volume critique of Pope Francis’s theology and Church governance. As I said before, context is very important for achieving understanding, and this book provides a rich and full context for grasping the significance and function of Traditionis Custodes.
Lionel: Of what value is context when a false  Theology is being used to interpret Vatican Council II. It is the same New Theology of Pope Benedict and Pope Francis.
For political reasons John Lamont, Joseph Shaw, Thomas Pink, John Rao, Michael Matt and others are not interpreting  Vatican Council II and EENS with the rational premise. Louie Verrecchio says, he has a family to support.

4. Lastly, Are Canonizations Infallible? Revisiting a Disputed Question. Many traditional Catholics have been bothered by the rapid-fire canonization of the trio of popes of the Second Vatican Council, namely, John XXIII, Paul VI, and John Paul II. This collection offers an excellent introduction to the history of canonization, the changes made to the process at various points, the nature and objects of papal infallibility, and, finally, reasons for questioning the infallibility of canonizations—in other words, that some canonizations may be in error, and that this is a stance Catholics are permitted to take
Lionel : The three popes interpreted the baptism of desire(BOD) and invincible ignorance(I.I), from the Letter of the Holy Office 1949, with a false premise. So they projected unknown cases of the BOD and I.I as being known and visible exceptions to the traditional strict interpret of EENS. So they made the Athanasius Creed and the Syllabus of Errors ( ecumenism of retutn, Social Reign of Christ the King) obsolete, with this one action. This was first class heresy. It was also schism.
Now with one simple action, we can undo their work and go back to Tradition. We have found what creates the heremeneutic of rupture with Tradition. It is not the liturgy. It is not the Mass. The missing link is in ecclesiology, in philosophy. It is a simply false observation which is responsible for the New Theology.
When we see BOD and I.I as being only hypothetical there are no more exceptions to EENS, the Athanasius Creed, the Syllabus of Errors etc. The Catechisms do not contradict each other any more. The ecclesiology of the Church before and after Vatican Council II is exclusivist. There is no development of doctrine since there are no exceptions in Vatican Council II any more to traditional doctrine.Nothing has 'developed'.
The three popes interpreted Magisterial documents with the false premise and not just Vatican Council II.Pope Francis is doing the same and so is Peter Kwasniewski, Joseph Shaw,Taylor Marshall and Roberto dei Mattei.
________

What, then, do we do? I’d like to echo a recent statement of Dr. Joseph Shaw: “The best way to respond to Traditionis Custodes is to carry on with the work of restoring Tradition,” in whatever ways are available to us. Shaw goes on to talk about altar server training and mending vestments.
Lionel : Joseph Shaw interprets Vatican Council II with a common irrationality, as held by Cardinal Vince Nicols .So they offer the Latin Mass with the traditional rubrics but with the false new ecclesiology. So they  reject the old ecclesiology of the Traditional Latin Mass. The Latin Mass in Britain today is not really the Traditional Latin Mass of the centuries. In the past the priest did not interpret extra ecclesiam nulla salus with alleged exceptions of BOD and I.I .They do not exist in our reality and would be invisible for us.
There cannot be a Restoration with the false New Theology which Joseph Shaw supports. This something obvious. How can you interpret all the Magisterial documents with a false premise and then want to go back to Tradition ? This would not be the Tradition of the Traditional Latin Mass.
________

Now and always, hold to the Faith. Teach the Faith.
Lionel : He is referring to the Faith of Pope Francis.-Lionel Andrades
