Church Militant TV produces another superficial and politically correct report on Vatican Council II: avoids discussing the Rational Premise

Church Militant TV has produced another politically correct report on Vatican Council II which does not offend the liberals and the Left. CMTV does not discuss the issue of the Irrational and Rational Premise. More important it does not interpret Vatican Council II with the Rational Premise and so support Feeneyite extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS).-L.A

‘SPIRIT OF VATICAN II’

by Paul Murano  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  October 13, 2022

The muted Council

We have part III of our series commemorating the 60th anniversary of Vatican II. We know the Council produced documents, but in the past half century, all we've heard about is the "spirit of Vatican II." With us now is Church Militant's Dr. Paul Murano to explain the difference.

Lionel: Paul Murano interprets Lumen Gentium 8,14,15 and 16 by confusing what is invisible as being visible and then projecting them as objective examples of salvation outside the Church in the present times(2022).He also interprets UR 3,NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II, like the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith,Vatican. The CDF confuses these hypothetical cases as being objective exceptions for Feeneyite EENS.Murano, is a liberal on this issue, like Dr.Robert Fastiggi, a professor of theology at the Sacred Heart Major seminary, Detroit. There interpretation of Vatican Council II is political and not Catholic. It is unethical.

Since the Word and the Spirit can never contradict each other, it seems some people have used the Council disingenuously as a launching pad to promote modernism. In tonight's In-Depth Report, we look at whether this "spirit of Vatican II' actually corresponds to the Council itself.

Alice von Hildebrand, author, speaker and professor: "Stalin, soon after he came to power, ordered his cronies to invade Catholic seminaries with young men that had neither faith nor morals."

Lionel: The Hildebrands too interpreted Vatican Council II with the Irrational and not Rational Premise as did Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and the popes from Paul VI.

Some 2,400 prelates gathered in Rome just 40 years after Soviet leader Joseph Stalin ordered the infiltration of Catholic seminaries. How many worked their way up the Church ladder to influence the Council is unknown.

Tens of millions drowned under the red tide during that time, yet, the bishops did not condemn communism.

HistoryPod: "On the 23rd of June 1960, the United States Food and Drug Administration approved Enovid as the first combined oral contraceptive pill in the world."

And while the sexual revolution was gathering steam with the introduction of the pill, the prelates would not directly condemn contraception.

Lionel : Since the popes and the CDF interpreted Vatican Council II with the Irrational Premise which was a break with Tradition, innovation in faith and morals was possible.

The Council did, however, reaffirm the primary end of marriage is the procreation and education of children. It also reiterated that one cannot use any unnatural means to space children: "Sons of the Church may not undertake methods of birth control which are found blameworthy by the teaching authority of the Church in its unfolding of the divine law.”

But the bishops left the morality of the pill for Pope Paul VI to address after the Council.

They also shelved the possible declaration of Mary as Mediatrix of all grace.

Without formal declaration, the Council document Lumen Gentium called Mary our "mother" in "the order of grace," and recognized her under the titles of “Advocate," "Helper," "Benefactress" and "Mediatrix” who intercedes for us with "the gifts of eternal salvation."

Brother Casey Cole, OFM: "At the heart of Vatican II was nothing more than a deep desire to recapture the essential Tradition of the Church."

Lionel: At the heart of a group of modernists which included Rahner and Ratzinger, was a desire to create a break with Tradition, especially the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

While the Council was billed as pastoral rather than dogmatic, it did re-present much traditional teaching, although sometimes ambiguously.

Lionel: With the Rational Premise Vatican Council II would be dogmatic, supporting the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus and the Athanasius Creed. But when it was interpreted with the Irrational Premise by Pope Paul VI and the cardinals and bishops, it rejected the traditional strict interpretation of the dogma EENS.Pope Paul VI also confirmed the change in theology and doctrine and called the Council a pastoral Council only. He did not explain the process, on how the dogma was rejected with the False Premise.Neither did the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith explain it to the people.Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Ratzinger did not tell Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre that he could interpret the Council with the Rational Premise.Neither did they affirm the Council with the Rational Premise.

It was all kept secret. Archbishop Lefebvre was excommunicated because he did not accept the Council interpreted with the Irrational Premise.

Fr.Leonard Feeney was excommunicated because he did not except the baptism of desire etc interpreted with the False Premise.

For example, the second paragraph in Vatican II's Dignitatis Humanae, on religious freedom, states: "We believe that one true religion subsists in the Catholic and Apostolic Church." The phrase also appears in Lumen Gentium.

Decades later, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) explained the phrase meant that Christ's Church is the Catholic Church, through which all graces flow. It added the grace of sacraments such as baptism and marriage, sanctifying non-Catholic Christians, flow from the bosom of Christ's One True Church.

Lionel: The CDF did not announce that Lumen Gentium 8 ( subsists it) did not contradict Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. We cannot meet or see someone saved outside the Catholic Church, where the true Church exists. This is all theoretical and speculative. So Lumen Gentium would not really contradict the strict interpretation of the dogma EENS.

What is not found in the 16 documents of the Second Vatican Council are "follow your conscience," "tolerate evil," "don't evangelize," and "all religions are equal."

Abp. Fulton J. Sheen: "All these are manifestations of a spirit of the diabolic."

While Vatican II could have covered more pressing topics or reaffirmed doctrine in simpler terms, everything it presented was a continuum with Sacred Tradition and the Church's constant Magisterium.

The iconic words attributed to Pope John XXIII in opening the assembly were: "Throw open the windows of the church and let the fresh air of the spirit blow through."

Tragically, it wasn't long after its conclusion the pure air of the Holy Spirit was comingled with the foul "spirit of Vatican II."
