Why is Religious
liberty in Vatican Council II an issue any more? If the Council Fathers and
Pope Paul VI interpreted LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc irrationally,
we do not have to do the same. And then when LG 8 etc being hypothetical and
invisible always, does not contradict Feeneyite extra ecclesiam nulla salus and
Ad Gentes 7, then the Council has the old ecclesiocentric ecclesiology, the
exclusive concept of salvation. The Catholic State, the Papal State of the
past, affirmed extra ecclesiam nulla salus with no known exceptions. Within the
Catholic State they granted freedom to non Catholics.-Lionel Andrades
