The Latin
Mass does not unite. We can interpret Vatican Council II like Archbishop Marcel
Lefebvre or Archbishop Thomas E. Gullickson, like traditionalist Brother Thomas
Augustine micm or Brother Andre Marie micm.
Neither does Holy Mass in the vernacular unite. We can interpret Lumen Gentium 14 (baptism of desire) and Lumen Gentium 16 (invincible ignorance) like Scott Hahn or John Martignoni and the conclusion will be non-traditional or traditional respectively. Both attend the same Mass in English.
We can interpret Vatican Council II ( LG 14, LG 16 etc) like the Benedictine
Fr.Stephen Visintin osb, former Rector and Dean of Theology at the University
of St. Thomas Aquinas, or , like Cardinal Arthur Roche, Andrea Grillo and the
present rector and dean of theology at St. Anselm and the conclusion will be
radically different.- Lionel Andrades
