We have a
discovery which has taken the Catholic Church back to the past. It is the
discovery of Cushingism and Feeneyism. It is interpreting Vatican Council II
irrationally or rationally.
Presently
the understanding of the Church Councils, Catechisms and Nicene, Apostles and
Athanasius Creed is irrational. We can switch to the rational interpretation.
Then there is a continuity and not rupture with Tradition. The liberal-conservative
(traditionalist) division in the Church ends.
Vatican
Council II is then orthodox and traditional. It is unethical for the cardinals,
for example, to choose Cushingism. They must elect a pope who is a Feeneyite i.e.
he interprets invisible cases as being invisible. This is common sense. It is
something obvious.
The liberalism
we have seen over the last 60 years comes with Cushingism. When it is said that
Rahner, Ratzinger, Congar, Murray and Balthazar were liberals, it is a
reference, to their being Cushingites.
When it is
said that Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was a traditionalist, it is false. He was a
Cushingite. A Cushingite cannot be a traditionalist.
For
Lefebvre, invisible cases of Lumen Gentium 16(being saved in invincible ignorance)
and Lumen Gentium 14 (being saved with the baptism of desire), were visible examples
of salvation outside the Church. So they were objective exceptions for the
dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.
Lefebvre was
following the Cushingite 1949 Letter of the Holy Office to the Archbishop of
Boston relative to Fr. Leonard Feeney.
The 1949
Letter of the Holy Office has been a source of Cushingism in the Catholic
Church.
She has
broken through the mess in the Church. I am only reporting it.
