I was talking to a Missionaries of Charity Sister from Pakistan
yesterday. I told her that I believe Muslims in general need to enter the
Catholic Church for salvation from Hell. This was the teaching of the Church in
Vatican Council II. Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II says all need faith and
baptism for salvation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church 846, based in
Vatican Council II, says outside the Church there is no salvation (CCC 846).
Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II which says the Church is necessary for
salvation is cited in the Catechism of the Catholic Church 846.The Catholic
Church is the only Ark of Noah that saves in the flood (CCC 845).God wants all
to be united within the Catholic Church (CCC 845).Catholics are the new people
of God, the Church is the new elect (Nostra Aetate 4, Vatican Council II).
All this was new for the good Sister.
This Sister lives at Casilina, Rome where I assume the Religious Superior also interprets LG 8,LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc, as referring to physically invisible cases in 1965-2024.
Missionaries of Charity (Contemplative) priests, Rome accept Vatican
Council II and affirm Ad Gentes 7. For them too, like the parish priest Fr.
Paulo Boumis, LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc in Vatican Council II,
refer to hypothetical cases only. So LG 8, 14, 15, 16, UR 3, NA 2 GS 22 etc, do
not contradict Ad Gentes 7, and CCC 845,846.
I have lived and worked as a volunteer at the Missionaries of Charity
home for the handicapped in Lahore, Pakistan. Then in Karachi once a week I
would go with the M.C Sisters to a poor area of the city.
For the Missionaries of Charity, Rome, CCC 847-848 (invisible cases of being saved in invincible ignorance) do not contradict CCC 845-846 (outside the Church no salvation).
The Lay Missionaries of Charity celebrated 40 years yesterday with a Mass offered by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect Emeritus for the Congregation of the Oriental Churches. The Lay Missionaries of Charity (L.M.C.'s) are a third of the Missionaries of Charity family, founded in Rome in 1986 by Fr. Sebastian Vazhakhala, M.C. The L.M.C.'s take vows of poverty, conjugal chastity, obedience, and wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor. There is no salvation outside of Jesus and the Catholic Church, His Mystical Body said an M.C priest last week. - Lionel Andrades

Catechism of the Catholic Church 846-848
"Outside the Church there is no salvation" 846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers? Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
- Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.
- Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.
