I affirm Vatican Council II and hold the SSPX traditional position on ecumenism and other religions

Bishop Richard Williamson says Jews need to convert for salvation but contradicts himself when he says those in invincible ignorance etc, known on earth, are exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

I affirm Vatican Council II which is a traditionalist Council, since Lumen Gentium 16 is not an exception to the dogma on salvation. For the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) bishops it is an exception. So they criticize the Council.

I hold the traditional teaching on ecumenism and other religions since Vatican Council II affirms the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (Ad Gentes 7).This is also the interpretation of Fr. Leonard Feeney.

Vatican Council II and I hold the literal interpretation of the dogma. I believe all non Catholics need to convert into the Church for salvation with no known exceptions mentioned in Vatican Council II.

Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II  says all need Catholic Faith and the baptism of water. Protestants and Orthodox Christians do not have Catholic Faith .They need to enter the Church for salvation (to avoid Hell).

If the SSPX bishops could accept that we do not know the ‘exceptions’ then they could also see Vatican Council II as a traditional Council, with the hermeneutic of continuity.-Lionel Andrades
