BAPTISM OF DESIRE AND INVINCIBLE IGNORANCE SHOULD NOT BE REFERRED TO AS EXCEPTIONS

When the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary say there are no exceptions to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus they are correct. There are no exceptions. Since the baptism of desire and invincible ignorance are not exceptions. A person could be saved with the baptism of desire and in invincible ignorance and it would be known only to God.So these cases are not exceptions to the dogma.

Being saved with the baptism of desire and in invincible ignorance should not be referred to as exceptions.

Visibly, explicitly, there is only the ordinary means of salvation (faith and baptism). There cannot be an extraordinary way since we do not know of any 'exceptions'. There are no known exceptions or extraordinary means of salvation.

When the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary say there are no exceptions they could say that they accept that a person can be saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire and these are not exceptions.

If they assume that invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are exceptions it would be an error. It would not be rational.

I admire the Slaves of the Heart of Mary since they held firmly to the dogma and the teachings of the Church, while I was confused some 20 years back, with the 'exceptions'.

However this point has to be clarified.

1. If invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are visible to us then these cases are exceptions to the dogma and they should be rejected.

2.If invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are not visible, and known, to us they are not exceptions to the dogma and should be accepted as implicit cases.(Implicit baptism of desire and being saved implicitly in invincible ignorance).

WEBSITE OF ST.BENEDICT CENTER,STILL RIVER

The website St.Benedict Center, Still River,Massachusetts, the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary; the community of Brother Thomas Augustine MICM,(1) could affirm the text of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. If there are protests they could state that they accept implicit baptism of desire and implicit invincible ignorance known only to God.

So they do not reject these cases.

They accept implicit desire etc along with the literal interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus according to Fr.Leonard Feeney. It does not violate the Principle of Non Contradiction. It does not contradict the ordinary means of salvation which is Catholic Faith and the baptism of water.

Similarly, they do not reject Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.Since there is nothing in either of them to contradict the dogma on salvation.

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus is Catholic Faith expressed in Dominus Iesus 20, Catechism of the Catholic Church 845,846, Vatican Council II(, AG 7,LG 14) etc.

They should not be asked to deny the Catholic Faith on their website.

It's the Paulist Fathers who deny the defined dogma , CCC 845,846, Vatican Council II (AG 7,LG 14 being contradicted by LG 16).The Paulist Fathers assume that we can see the dead saved. In Worcester and Boston they can shake hands with people saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire and no body protests at this irrationality
