Coetus Internationalis Patrum Working Group had three options

The Coetus Internationalis Patrum Working Group had three options:-
1. They could have cited the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) and stated that LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2,  GS 22 etc are not exceptions to EENS. This is ecclesiocentricism.
2.They could have cited Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. This is ecclesiocentricism.
3. They could have cited the Catechism of the Catholic Church(845,846,1257) which says God wants all people to be united in the Catholic Church ( CCC 845) ,the Church is compared to the Ark of Noah that saves in the flood(CCC 845)and in which all must enter to be saved.
CCC 1257 says that the Church knows of no means to eternal salvation other than the baptism of water, while, we humans cannot know of any case in which someone is saved outside the Church since God is not limited to the Sacraments (CCC 1257).This too is ecclesiocentricism.
So we have Vatican Council II, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the dogma EENS saying the Church has an exclusiveness and superiority in salvation. It has an ecclesiocentric ecclesiology. Like the Magisterium and missionaries of the 16th century it is saying outside the Church there is no salvation.
This was not done by Coetus.
The New Theology is created by assuming that BOD, BOB and I.I are exceptions to Feeneyite EENS. So the New Theology is outside the Church there is salvation. There are alleged physically visible and personally known non Catholics saved outside the Church.
So Cardinal Ratzinger refers to those saved in other religions through the good things in those religions or, all who are saved are saved through Jesus and the Church(CCC 846).
SO when the Coetus group cites Dominus Iesus 14 and 16 which is Christological without being ecclesiocentric, it does not say every one needs to be a members of the Catholic Church for salvation ( to avoid Hell), the liberals will  say that non Catholics in the Amazon are saved outside the Church in their religion. So there is no need for mission or conversion.
We now know that Lumen Gentium and the rest of Vatican Council II does not contradict the strict interpretation of EENS. While AG 7 and CCC 845, 846, 1257 support the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church and an ecumenism of return. This is the Conciliar Church-Lionel Andrades
