 The real issue in the Catholic Church is no more Vatican Council II. The real issue is extra ecclesiam nulla salus, interpeted with or without the false premise.

Vatican Council II without the false premise does not contradict EENS with no exceptions. It also does not contradict the rest of Tradition. So the Council is no more an issue.

However if Vatican Council II is interpreted with the false premise  then there is the innovative  EENS with exceptions. This is the EENS of the Lefebvrists and liberals. It is approved by the Masons.

However if Vatican Council II is interpreted without the false premise are Catholics ready to affirm EENS( with no exceptions), the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX( with no objective exceptions), the Catechism of Pope Pius X( invincible ignorance is not an exception to 24 Q and 27Q), the Athanasius Creed which says all need Catholic faith for salvation?

Since Pope Benedict and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith interpret Vatican Council II with the false premise, there are exceptions.So they reject the Athanasius Creed. -Lionel Andrades
