Dominicans denying the Catholic Faith to protect St. Mary Majors from law suits?

Today morning I spoke up front with Fr. Timothy Brouser O.P and not through the Confessional at the Basilica of St. Mary Majors in Rome. I asked him if the Catholic Church teaches that the baptism of desire is explicit and so contradicts Vatican Council II and the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

I explained that Vatican Council II (LG 14, AG 7) indicates everyone needs Catholic Faith and the baptism of water for salvation and there are no known exceptions.

Also the dogma Cantate Domino, Council of Florence on extra ecclesiam nulla salus indicates every one needs to enter the Church to avoid Hell.

I  informed Fr. Timothy about this blog and that these questions were being asked so that I could post his answer.

Fr. Timothy would just answer ‘Let it to God, let it to God’ meaning ‘Leave it to God’.

I responded that we could leave it to God but I would like to know what does the Church teach. He would repeat the refrain.

‘Does it mean that your answer is no?’ I asked. He would not answer. Neither was it yes.

Fr. Nevus Marcello  O.P a Brazilian priest had answered yes. Before the summer holidays he said Cantate Domino was a de fide teaching of the Church and we all had to believe in it. He also said that we do not know any explicit case of a person saved with the baptism of desire or in invincible ignorance. He was no more there a week after he made those statements. Neither has he returned until today.

A Polish priest Fr. Wojciech Morawski O.P who rejects the dogma and the teaching of Vatican Council II affirming it, was still there hearing Confession today. Also Fr. Joseph Than O.P a Vietnamese priest who denies this Church teaching and says the Church no more teaches this  was hearing Confession today.

The refrain ‘the Church no more teaches this’ could mean that the priest concerned is protecting himself legally from law suits and is also protecting his community and their property from persons demanding compensation under laws in Italy. He has the approval of the Vatican.

The situation is grave in the Catholic Church because of the foreign, non Catholic oppression. Oppression through anti-Catholic laws approved by politicians here under pressure from International lobbies and groups.

The priest responsible at the Sacristy at St. Mary Majors was the editor of the Catholic mission- magazine Christ to the World. It was faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. This magazine on Mission under the Rome Vicariate has been suspended for now may be two years. The priest will not comment any more on the teachings of the Church.

Since liberals, Catholic and non Catholics, could phone the Vatican and threaten to sue. They could seek damages, financial compensation under hate laws, proselytism laws, anti Semitism laws, racist laws etc.

It would seem to protect Church property priests are not saying that those saved in invincible ignorance or the baptisms of desire are known only to God and  they are implicit cases.

They are allowing Catholics to assume they are explicit. If they spoke the truth and said these cases were implicit it could mean the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus is not contradicted. It means the Church officially teaches today that all non Catholics need to be a visible member of the Church, with Catholic Faith and the baptism of water (Vatican Council II) to avoid Hell and go to Heaven.

It would mean billions of people are oriented to Hell in the present times since they have died with Original Sin and mortal sins on their soul.

Seminarians or priests who hold these traditional Catholic views are being removed from Pontifical universities and seminaries with the approval of people in the Vatican.-Lionel Andrades
