CARDINAL CORMAC MURPHY O'CONNOR AFFIRMS THE DOGMA EXTRA ECCLESIAM NULLA SALUS AND AGREES WITH DAPHNE MCLEOD

No denial from the office of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of England and Wales to recent posts on this blog.

A few years back Cardinal Raymond Burke was to offer the Pontifical Latin Mass in England but the invitation was turned down and the Archbishop of Westminster Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor asked an English bishop to offer the Mass.

Recently Cardinal Raymond Burke cancelled his visit to England to offer the same Mass there. He was invited by Daphne McLeod, Chairman, Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice.

Daphne McLeod says non Catholics can be saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire and it does not contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.(1)

Catholic priests in Rome who offer Mass in Italian agree with Daphne McLeod. There is no baptism of desire that we can know of.(2)

There is no visible baptism of desire the priests in England could also agree.

If the baptism of desire was an exception to the dogma it would have to be a visible baptism of desire. So it's not.

There is no baptism of desire that we know of or can know of so how can it be an exception?

So if you would ask the cardinals and priests there if they knew of any case of the baptism of desire they would answer in the negative.

If they were asked if they knew of any exception to the dogmatic teaching extra ecclesiam nulla salus there would be the same negative answer from them.

Would they know of any case in England of someone saved in invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire? Of course not!

Are invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire exceptions to the dogma? The answer  obviously is it is not.
So do the cardinals in England and Wales and the priests there agree with Daphne McLeod? It seems so. No one has issued a denial.

Does it mean that the cardinals, bishops and priests in England are affirming the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus? It would seem so.
